Amazing waterfall located near Rattota, Matale district. The fall of this waterfall is about 10m and can be viewed from three parts. One at the beginning of the suspension bridge. The second view is from the middle of the suspension bridge. The third one is the most fantastic view after crossing the suspension bridge. During the non-rainy season, water levels are low and can reach the waterfall. Crystal clear pure water. Amazing and can spend days. Old fashioned suspension bridges can be a danger for kids and the elderly. So be careful. But, worth crossing it to see the pure beauty of this waterfall. The waterfall is located about 16km away from the Matale city centre (40 minutes drive). Also, on the way to Riverston.

Please avoid using shampoos, soap, and any chemicals when bathing to protect the environment. Loads of plastics and polythene were visible. Please take back whatever you bring with you. They do not belong to this environment.

The fall is situated in nearby Rattota town in the Matale District, along the shortcut to Wasgasmuwa National Park. Take the Matale – Ilukumbura road to the Bamarakiri Falls bend, which is 1km past Rattota town, where the fall is to be found.
This 3m fall is set among the enchanting evergreen forest of the Knuckles mountain range, the latter of which is said to resemble the fingers of a clenched fist. A suspension bridge spanning the falls adds the finishing touch to an already beautiful scene.

The fall’s popularity as a visitor attraction continues despite the fact that up to May 2002, 17 people have been killed while either bathing or attempting to clamber over nearby rocks.

This is the best place to washout your tiredness after visiting Riverston or Pitawala pathana. There is a nice cable bridge just across the waterfall. Very easy to access from the road. This is a must go place when you visiting knuckles. Do not have a bath on a rainy day. Its very dangerous because sudden flood might be occur.

We visited there from Colombo and as a part of my camping tour to Pitawala. we were the first to visit on that day around 6.30AM and the view was amazingly beautiful. There are two water streams and 3 waterfalls. But mostly the main one is visible. The bridge was nice to go above the falls. A nice place to visit as a family and it's advised not to have a bath. Plus beware of not getting too close to the villagers as they try to sell stuff that we don't actually need. Other than that, one of the "Must Go" Place if you are going camping at Riverston.

Babarakiri ella is a hidden beauty situated near Matale area. This waterfall isn't famous among locals but once you get there you'll never want to leave this place. We stayed Matale for 2 days and both days we went here for swim.

There is a pound form under the waterfall. You can swim and relax here. Its like natural Jacuzzi. Water is crystal clear and little bit cold. But you have to be careful because the edge of the pond is slippery. If you are traveling to Matale visit here and have a bath. Enjoy the hidden paradise.

About 30 minutes from Matale town when u start driving climbing Riverstone u will find bamabarakiri Ella. It’s like a 50m walk from where u can park the vehicle.

U have to go through a hanging bridge so u could see the falls full view from up above which is beautiful.

U can bathe there if u need but not advisable.
