AVOID AT ALL COSTS. SCAM.
The local driver will take you here. The tour starts innocently as a tour and it’s very informative but then it becomes a hard sell push for the massage, oils, and spices. And they get upset when you don’t realise they want a tip.

The visit to the garden is nice and informative. THEN they oblige you to get a (bad) massage, even if you don't want it, and you have to pay the person who does it. They try to get you to buy products, we only bought some curry for peace of mind. At the exit the guide shamelessly asked for a tip. Just ask for an entrance fee instead.

The oil they put on my skin gave me an allergic reaction and I had to take an antihistamine.

Our driver just pulled in to this place saying it’s “free” - please note that nothing is for free or done out of the kindness it will always be some cost tipping pr purchasing something in the obligatory shop tour. The walk around the garden discussing the spices and fruits of Sri Lanka was great - our tour guide was an absolute legend - we could relate really well with him. We got taken to a hit after the walk around where you are given a “free treatment” basically all of the spices and oils you’ve just experienced get massages into your skin so when you go to the next step (the shop) you’re more likely to buy something… because of course it was free and these people just put a lot of effort into your experience. I enjoyed the walk and guided tour but the touristy stuff not so much. Happy to tip the hard worker that answered all of our questions.
