Made a rare trip out in current financial times to see the new mario movie. We pre-booked the week before. When we got there we decided that as it was our anniversary we would treat ourselves to food and drink, staff was friendly enough. Bought our food and headed to the screen. The man checking tickets then told us that our screening had actually been cancelled, us standing there with our food and drink slightly annoyed that we weren't told beforehand. He said we'd get a full refund of the tickets as well as complimentary tickets to another showing. As we had our food already we felt forced to see another show that night so that it wasn't a waste. However, instead it was a ticket exchange and we didn't get a refund or complimentary tickets. Essentially they waited until we bought food to tell us because they're greedy for money. Having tried to chase up the refund, Vue customer service has said it's not their fault and they can't do anything as "we had a good time". Unsure how they know that? We definitely won't be back having been lied to.

came out from viewing the half 9 showing of the Nun2 and was welcomed to all 4 exits locked down the bottom of the stairs including the automatic doors and emergency exits. there were maybe 10 in our screen and possibly more in another and thankfully another member of us unlocked the automatic doors and let us out. online says they shut at 12am (midnight) however we were out the screen and downstairs at 20 to 12, there were no staff to be seen anywhere and lights were off at the confectionary area. Honestly not a good look for the cinema as anything could have happened and there were no staff or security etc in sight or possible exits that we could leave with ease.

sunday 23rd December, my family took grandkids to Hamilton vue to see mary poppins returns. they found the carpark impossible so decide to park across the road and visit mcdonalds before the film. it was late afternoon and dark. they were in three cars. they parked across road next to mcdonalds then went to movie. a few days all three cars received parking fines totalling £120. after much discussion I,m proud to say they all decided to pay, but it leaves me very angry they were put in this situation. carpark at vue is 4 hours and across road, the obvious overflow is only 3. they were parked for 3 hrs 20mins. suffice to say none of my family will ever visit the Hamilton Vue ever again. we will got to the Showcase not far away, a place where parking is free and not set up to rip you off.

The parking at the vue in Hamilton is the worst around , considering it’s a new(er) style car park. Really puts you off the visit, especially since it’s a monitored car park (with parking charges)
The cinema itself is fine , but when we visited on March 10th , the sound on the movie was very poor - so bad you could hear the movie next door more than the movie we went to see ! The seat I had was broken too.
Staff were great - some good chat , and very helpful.

I booked 4 tickets on line paying a 75p booking fee on each - no problem - as it stated tickets would be more at the cinema itself! Got to the cinema to find tickets 4.99 all day everyday so..... Ripped off to the tune of 3 pounds - it's not the money it's the principal - so just buy your tickets at the cinema.

This establishment would appear to be run with the aim of causing maximum annoyance to its customers thanks to its bizarre system of running its queues, and allocating its seats.
One is faced with the unappealing sight of a queue at each manned till, so it is impossible to judge which queue to join to achieve the minimum delay. How trivially simple would it be to have a single queue so that the customer at the head of the queue simply goes to the next free till? This is a common enough practice in many industries and is a system which ensures maximum fairness at no cost to the operator. If even the Post Office can handle queues in this simple way then surely anybody can.
The next problem with the individual queues is that one has no idea how long each customer will take to be served because Vue Cinemas insist on the crazy practice of selling tickets and serving food and drink at the same till. Rival chains adopt a much more sensible system of selling tickets first, then food and drink at separate tills, so that customers simply wanting a cinema ticket can be served with no delay. The queues at Vue mean that one should probably arrive at the cinema at least half an hour before the film starts to have a chance of getting to one's seat in good time.
Seat allocation is another nonsensical aspect of Vue's operation. Rival operators allow customers to choose where to sit using an on-screen display of the auditorium, but not Vue, who merely ask if the customer would like to sit at the front, middle, or rear. Theatres and concert halls have been allowing customers to choose their seats for decades, so why can't Vue do the same thing? As with everything else they do, it all seems designed deliberately to annoy the paying customer.
The cinema experience is meant to be a pleasure. For best results avoid Vue cinemas entirely and patronise rival chains who know how to run their business properly.
