If you like a walk or run or just even out for the day then beautiful chatelherault is the place to be ! The country side is great it's clean and tidy . Don't forget to visit the house and the little shop / cafe inside

My partner and I walk this park at least four times a week with a 190 stairs to climb it certainly keeps you fit, we see a lot of dog walkers enjoying the stroll but what is annoying is the dog poo in bags hanging from the branches and a lot just dropped on the ground and I'm not just... More

Chatelherault is in fact one of the Dukes of Hamilton former hunting lodges & would have been in sight of Hamilton Palace in the 1800,s & early 1900,s very Grand building with some lovely gardens at the rear , inside there is a visitor centre Tea room and entertaining suites used for weddings and many other types of functions .... More

Great walks around the woods or just saunter round the large grassy areas. Lovely coffees and cakes served at the cafe. Love it here so much we moved to a new house in ferniegair to be next to the park.

This very grand, Adam designed, Hunting Palace of the Dukes of Hamilton is a beautiful venue for weddings and functions. The stables host interesting exhibitions with an excellent cafe facility. Nice large park with a few good walks but the visitor centre is a bit small and expensive, some walks have been cut off in need of repair for years and the historic Scotland castle is a ruin covered in scaffolding and cut off by fencing. Great walks and an interesting place just to go and see. The Duke of Hamilton was the Guardian of Mary Queen Of Scots and as a result tried his arm at laying his hands on the Chaterherault estate in France. He failed. You can take a walk along the the river Clyde which will lead you into Strathclyde Park or you can cycle , take in the history of the place also ideal walk if you have pets .

Great to visit, the history, the scenery. Great walks close by and a lovely museum indoors. visited this building in the late `70s when it was a condemned building. seriously good.
