First time visitors will find plenty to do. A visit to the House is well worth it and there are fantastic walks with beautiful views all around the estate. Currently, a Market runs on a Sunday afternoon, which is a good mix of food to eat or take away, and other items. Chatelherault is deal for so many people - dog walkers, children, cyclists, walkers, people interested in history, nature and so much more. It has an excellent play park, plenty of parking, a cafe and is easily accessible by all. You might even catch a glimpse of the famous White Cattle.

Good place for walking, plenty of trails, lovely lawns and adventure playground for the children. Cadzow Castle was inaccessible and covered in scaffolding so not worth walking over especially to see it. Interesting displays in the building about the history of the area and the house, but we didn't have much time to look at these.
The only thing which was very disappointing was The Oaks Cafe onsite. The staff were friendly but when I asked about what allergens were in a particular cake, a member of staff told me she didn't know because she had thrown the packaging away. Not very impressive as it meant I couldn't risk eating the cake as I have multiple dietary requirements. I was, however, able to find a pre-packaged item with the relevant allergen information and I enjoyed that. Perhaps just a little more training for the staff in that area would be helpful.

We're lucky as this wonderful place is nearby so we visit it often. The building itself is stunning, with the formal and herbal gardens surrounding it just adding to its charm. But for us it's the glorious walks that do it - a gorge, a long elegant bridge over the gorge, the remains of Cadzow Castle overlooking the bridge, ancient oak trees, riverside walks. It's simply stunning even after all the years we've been there.

this is a lovely park and a beautiful stately house. Many places to visit here including a cafe which has an outside are where your dog can accompany you. Easy access to the cafe but a slight slope at the entrance. A nice little shop and museum. Wedd ings are held in the stately house and gardens are of french design and well laid out.

Beautifully restored hunting lodge and hege country park with ancient forest and oak trees. The rooms can be viewed in the hunting lodge and there is a beautifully restored ceiling in the main building. Lots of information on the history of the the lodge and about woodland plants and animals. I would avoid the cafe as the staff were surly and unhelpful on the two occasions I visited.

This is a great place to visit when we're staying with our daughter and family who live nearby. The building itself is very beautiful and the grounds and various walks around it are fantastic. Last time I visited with my daughter there was a lovely craft fair with lots of interesting stalls and a choice of some different Christmas gifts. The shop is lovely, too, and the café looks really good but unfortunately, it was packed the day we visited and only appeared to be one person serving.

Solo
The title I gave really sums this place up. If you fancy a solo walk this is an ideal local place. You can also visit with friends too if you fancy a walk and natter. Not sure how interesting it would be for kids as it takes a good 2 hours to get around and it’s basically just a walk with views.
I have tended to do this walk early morning so when I come to finish it’s only just starting to get busy but I really enjoy how quiet it is and the views are amazing. On my first walk I saw a deer and this just set it up to be a beautiful walk. It feels like you have travelled right into the countryside when you are here. Every time I walk here I notice something different.

The setting is beautiful and the views were stunning on the glorious Spring day we visited a week or so ago, but the experience was marred by a lack of signage, particularly of car parking facilities; lack of outdoor seating where we could take a break whilst we admired the scenery. I had taken my 97 year old mother who had not been out of doors for most of the winter to visit this place which hadn’t visited for a good number of years. As she now has to use a wheelchair, I was astonished by the lack of accessibility to most parts of the site apart from the cafe/shop. And therein lies another issue - the website gave a glowing report of the cafe and it is indeed much improved space since our last visit, but where were the delicious cakes that we were led to expect? All that was on offer were some very pathetic looking sandwiches, cakes and pre-packed biscuits. I realise that even yet times are challenging in the hospitality sector but these offerings were well below any standards one might have expected. Come on Chatelherault, you have a jewel of a country park, so please make it a pleasure to visit.

I love walking in Chatelheraut. Nice paths and like the shade.
But really wish the White Bridge would be replaced, it seems to have been closed for years, reopening it would give the option of a loop rather than an out and back as the Green Bridge always seems a really long walk esp for little kids.

One of my wifes favourite places in Scotland and just 10 minutes away by car for us. Well maintained walkways suitable for cycling and even suitable rough terrain wheelchairs. The Cadzow Castle remains are intriguing and the views over the river Avon from the stone bridge is very evocative especially in the autumn. The free visitor centre with cafe is informative and reasonably priced. This is located within the massive hunting lodge that dominates the park.

A small pond within a Chestnut grove has a permanent seat overlooking the water which makes for a picturesque and restful spot.
