About
The original Belleisle Conservatory was built in 1879 and replaced in 1955. In 2005, due to its poor structural condition the conservatory closed its doors. In 2010, an ambitious community group set up Belleisle Conservatory Ltd to transform a much loved but derelict B-listed conservatory back to its former glory. In July 2016 the restored Conservatory finally reopened its doors to the public.

I love Belleisle Conservatory and am always impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm of all the volunteers whose efforts result in such fabulous plant displays. There are comfortable benches where you can sit and relax, and when the weather is a bit warmer you can watch the honey bees going about their work safely behind a screen. In season there are plant sales - a real bargain. Check out their facebook page for updates on events and fundraisers. This is a real gem and well worth a visit. Plenty of parking on the Street or via the Golf Course entrance.
There is a lovely cafe within Belleisle Park itself and the equally lovely Secret Garden Cafe just down the road with a terrace overlooking the River Doon.
Highly recommended.

Lovely restoration of a beautiful glass house. Some stunning plants and a wee heat inside. Bought some of the colourful calenders from Christmas. And everyone loved them.

The conservatory is being restored to its former glory. The addition of a live bee colony provides an added attraction. There is sometimes honey for sale if you are lucky.the glasshouse house makes an elegant retreat and offers a range of plants to enjoy. Well worth a visit. It's small but really sweet.

Expert horticulture in a beautifully restored conservatory set in lawns and colourful flowerbeds. Volunteers maintain the project with a number of sponsors helping out financially. Plenty of plants to admire that are well looked after and the species variety is impressive. A good little historical guide can be purchased and donations are welcome. A bee hive is located at the west end and honey is available for purchase.

We found a leaflet for this garden in the butchers on our last day in Ayr. Fantastic, so well kept, full of colour and free. The conservatory was packed with plants and will visit again when in Ayr.
