We have not walked the full trail but the walks from Callander are superb, using the old railway line walking and cycle route (route 7) + strayed off up to Samson’s Stone and up to Lenys Falls. Just stunning

What a place to visit, every turn there was something jaw dropping and spectacular. The whole area has some thrilling journeys and none more so than Dukes Pass and loch lomond itself.

We may have cheated and driven the Trossachs trail, but it didn’t take away the awe and wonder from the views along the way!

Wonderful drive from Aberfoyle, then loch Katrine and then Venachar, on to Callandar then Doune, back via Thornhill and Port of Menteith. Lots of car parks , lay bys and places to stop for photos, walks etc plus tourist attractions on route. Some amazing views and not much traffic. Lots of hills and windy roads but fantastic scenery all around and varied so much in a small area. Could include Stirling if you have time

On a wet Sunday afternoon we set out from Stirling for a leisurely drive of the Trossachs trail . We stopped off at Lake of Monteith , which is quite small , and the town of Aberfoyle. The drive through the forested hills gave magnificent views of lovely, peaceful hills and countryside. We made quite a few short stops just to soak up the environment.
It was very relaxing , scenic and well worth it .

Beautiful scenery made even better by the lovely sunny weather. It was a joy traveling through and seeing the endless green belt.

Fell upon the Trossachs trail loop by mistake whilst on route to woollen mills in Kilmahog(dodgy name). Turned out to be glorified gift shops so gave them a swift swerve and ended up on the Sir Walter Scott steamboat. Through some beautiful countryside down to Aberfoyle and on to Stirling.

Lovely walks around different lakes and hills. Didn't see as much wildlife as we had thought. Howver, amazing views once you get higher of the town and lakes below.

Loch Lubnaig is a stunning beauty spot, 5 miles west of Callander. The Cabin is perfect to stop and have a bite to eat, everything is cooked/baked on the premises and is very tasty and fresh. There are lovely picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy the stunning scenery. Excellent toilet facilities which are spotlessly clean.

Travel a bit further and you reach Loch Katrine, home of the steam ship Sir Walter Scott. We spent a couple of hours sailing on the "Lady of the Lake". Stunning scenery and excellent friendly crew. There are bicycles for hire or you may walk on the shores of Loch Katrine. There is a Gift Shop and we enjoyed a lovely bowl of homemade soup in the Brenachoiile Restaurant. Definitely worth a visit.
