Overview
More
Fergusson Gallery celebrates the life and work of the great pioneers of modern art and dance, John Duncan Fergusson and Margaret Morris. J D Fergusson is now best known as one of the celebrated Scottish Colourist painters, while Margaret Morris is recognised for her pioneering work in modern dance. She was also an inspired choreographer, artist, movement therapist and author. Housed under the one roof at The Fergusson Gallery, their collections tell a fascinating story. We are open Tuesday to Saturday 10 am- 5 pm Sunday opening from April to October 12 pm - 4.30 Pm

Fergusson and his very talented companion Mary Morris were very important in their long lives. He added a very large dose of what was happening in Paris to the ferment of the Scottish colourists and this gallery, set in the old waterworks, presents the story...More

Opposite the River Tay is this wonderful gallery housed in a beautiful, old rotunda shaped tower once belonging to Perth's water authority. Situated on 2 floors and with a handsome resource library, this is home to the works of a great painter J D Fergusson...More

An interesting venue for a gallery in that it is round. The paintings and drawings were very nicely arranged and there was lots of information to guide you through. Good toilets as well - very clean.

Takes a short walk from the centre of town along the bank of the mighty Tay to get here. Doable in an hour or so. If you are into architecture, worth a look as this 'rotunda' building is one of the earliest cast iron buildings...More

Kept my attention. Not at all boring. Interesting aspect of life of artists who travelled around a lot.

Housed in an unusual building. Fine for a short visit although I daresay Fergusson and Morris officionados might want to linger longer. As an ex- civil engineer I found the story of the restoration (on the stairwell walls) an interesting diversion. Fits in well with...More
