Great location, played it today and the fairways are full of cut grass that don’t get picked up by the green keepers which get dragged onto the greens. Greens would be great if it wasn’t for all the grass off everyone’s shoes. You have to clear your way to the pin for a putt, would never play again.

A very enjoyable round of golf

Lovely very well maintained parkland golf course and not too busy. Interesting situation as it is situated in the city of Perth on an island surrounded by the River Tay. Good greens and plenty of variety in par 3 thru par 5 holes. The club house staff and members were very welcoming and friendly. Didn't find the walk from the public car park, up the steps and across the bridge too bad at all. Certainly the ramp helped a lot.

Very nice course layout with lots of good and interesting holes. Obviously a very flat course but well laid out and nicely presented. The members were very welcoming and friendly but the steward we didn't know if he was being funny or grumpy.... ran out of eggs for rolls very early.... The down side is the walk in from the car park over the rail bridge with stairs up and down, not ideal for those with a trolly.... Over all I would say well worth a visit..

Great Day of Golf

Walked from the train station, it took maybe 10-15 mins to get to the club house. We had booked a 3 ball for this course, 3 x sets of clubs and a buggy. Overall the course was fantastic, fairways were great and the greens were perfect, even when it rained for an hour. For our round of golf we let all the other players play through us, every single person said hello and asked where we were from etc. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. Will definitely be back

Park in the municipal car park and walk the 300 yards to the railway path - up the 23 steep steps and at the top ( take a breath ) turn left and walk another 4 minute walk - you cannot walk fast with a golf bag on your back - down the step steps turn left and walk another 5 minutes to the clubhouse - staff not totally welcoming ( after the hike with clubs shoes etc over the bridge ) lovely course but hire a trolley - do not take one and pray it does not rain for your LONG walk back to your car

This is a nice place to play golf. A little awkward to get to However a nice wee track. A little bit expensive when compared to other courses in the area.

We played the seniors four-ball today and we're delighted with the friendly welcome, the catering, the condition of the course and the pace of the greens. Some earlier reports are unfair: if you don't want to walk to the course, don't play! I first played here about 40 years ago and today was the best I've ever seen the course. It is a pity that no entrepreneur can resolve the transport issue but until then I'd recommend that you factor in a wee walk into your day and enjoy a fun course.

We've played this "Inland Island Golf Course" 4 times on outings & always found it enjoyable but ... an ordeal to reach. It's a very long walk before you can play!
We chose here because it was designed by Old Tom Morris & we're on a mission to play all courses involving him.
The Course itself is ideal for outings because it's so flat. Being lucky enough to have played here in differing weather conditions, ranging from calm sunshine to light rain showers with strong winds, I can truly say this course is a fun challenge for all skill levels. Bunkering is demanding & Greens well protected. The key to scoring well here is accurate ball control & good green reading.
The Club House is friendly & the food nice, the only draw back here is that very long walk back into town, made in darkness, afterward.

Myself and another 3 friends were able to get a golf outing booking during a regular King James golf tournament. We thought it was great that they were able to assist with this. The communication with Allan the match sec was excellent.
I would recommend the course to anyone looking for a decent challenge. The course itself is quite short but accuracy is key to getting a good score as wayward tee shots will be punished. The course condition was good and would happily play again. Ok it is a bit of a pain not being able to pull up in the car to the course but its not a major issue. The course is on an island so room is at a premium, which means that most of the next set of tees are very close to the previous green. We enjoyed this, as since we were having our own mini golf tournament we could watch our other groups tee shots and putts and get score updates which made it more interesting.
On some short par fours you can reach the green from the tee so the group in front will mark their ball and then wave you on to drive before continuing with the hole. First time i've had to do that but it worked well and also led to some banter with other players on the course.
All said and done we had a great day out and found all the members to be very kind and polite, infact a credit to the club. I wish more clubs were like that. Definitely worth a round.
