My friend and I went on the Outlander Day Tour. Firstly, it was the ONLY tour we found that lasted a day and was affordable (since we are students). We saw Doune Castle, Lallybroch, Darkness Castle, Falkner, and ate lunch at a fabulous little sit-in restaurant. The tour guide also made us feel at ease, comfortable, and told some of the rich history behind each stop. You could also get some great scenic shots while in the vehicle from place to place. Scotland is already a beautiful and historic place, but Clyde Coast Tourism will make you feel like it's home.

This was one of my favorite days ever...an Outlander Day Tour with Slainte Scotland! Our guide for the day, Ross, had a great sense of humor, told us stories, narrated at the specific spots where filming had taken place and dressed in full kilt attire! We visited 3 castles and 2 very charming towns - although the highlight for me was seeing Lallybroch (Midhope Castle), our last stop at Culross was such a delight! The streets were very cobblestone and it just felt like we stepped back in time. Also, we visited a delightful photographer at his shop in a very historic home, who was so kind to tell us stories about the building and the area. The drive through the countryside was so scenic, it was a perfect day! Thank you for all the attention to detail!

Being a huge Outlander fan, I booked their Outlander tour during my stay in Scotland in October. Was expecting to be part of a small group, but ended up having a private tour! A huge thanks to Caitriona for arranging everything. I was able to see almost everything I wanted to (I'll have to visit Midhope Castle AKA Lallybroch another time, one more reason to go back to Scotland!).
You truly made my Scotland adventure AWESOME!!!

My friend and I booked a once in a lifetime, private tour with Clyde Coast Tourism. The trip cost over $1200.00. We unfortunately had to cancel the tour only a few days after booking and paying for the trip. We emailed back and forth and were told they would process a refund, as it was 3 months before our anticipated trip. They even indicated they were sorry and hoped to have us come another time. Due to their own, internal miscommunication, they didn't cancel our tour, nor did they refund our money. They will not respond to my emails. I have sent Catriona the original documentation about our cancellation and the response from their company, acknowledging the cancellation. She simply ignores my emails. This experience has not only cost me $1200.00, but also soured me from wanting to go to Scotland.

We pre-paid a deposit for a full day tour & were in e-mail contact with Catriona, the owner. The day of our tour our guide did NOT show up. Many other guides waiting to tour other people told us this has happened many many times over the past several months. Catriona said she tried to call us but we never got a mobile message or e-mail. We waited an hour, finally got in touch with her & she told me a guide was on his way. After waiting another 45 minutes & not being able to get in touch with anyone we took a taxi & did not have the experience we were hoping for. There were so many discrepancies in her story about showing up, almost showing up, etc. I would highly recommend not booking with this agency. I wish I read a review like this before I booked.

Not only was our shore excursion cut short because of the ship's revised arrival and departure times, it turned out that all we got was a bus ride to Stirling Castle, then another bus ride to Loch Lomond with the added bonus of heat that couldn't be lowered or turned off. The promised water, snacks and dram of scotch never appeared. Definitely NOT worth what we paid for this one.

This twas the worst day if my life. Due to an emergency the whole show was cancelled. So five out of eight people stood freezing at the pickup point in the cold waiting for someone to appear. When we finally had Catriona on the phone we were told that Hopetoun house was in walkable distance. THIS IS WRONG. it is more than 5 miles one way. We were lost, we were crying. No taxi. No car rental. We were stuck. Feet aching. So disappointed. If there would not be Hopetoun house helping us out we would have been lost. No money left. And that was supposed to be the day I was waiting for so long. My dream birthday. And we could not see Lallybroch. Jen from Hopetoun told us that would be another 5 miles. Good joke Catriona.Did YOU ever walk from there? Believe me refunding what we paid in May is not enough. Too cheap for a ruined birthday and the course has changed - the Pound has dropped so I expect to receive the full amount of Euros back. Plus our train tix to Dalmeny (7,50 Pound p.P= 15 pound). Still that does not make up my ruined birthday. Saying sorry is not enough. Do ya say that to a bride after a ruined wedding? We paid hotel nights, flights. All to be on YOUR trip. I hope you understand. Scotland had died for me that day. Maybe you can help me believing in your company. Right now I would not recommand this trip nor your company. So expecting a Review for a trip that never took place in my case is just one more unbelievable disrespectful request. I cannot believe you want me to say more. After 3 days it is me still crying. I came to Scotland for your trip. Emergency or not. You expect understanding and we had to cope with the facts. We lost everything. You only say sorry& expect us to say okay? You expect a bit too much. A company should be able to stand for their customers and not leave them in the rain. That is what you did.Hope you come up with a solution that we could all live with.
Sincerely

Daniela Durek

Wow, pretty shocked at this providing the circumstances of the cancellation that you were made aware of and the fact that you had not received a message sent out to both telephone number provided in the booking and email addresses before the tour. If you do not choose to use a telephone number and email address on your travels, please do not include it in your contact info for your trip as it only wastes everyone's time. I assume since it was such an important trip, it would have been beneficial to provide the number of the hotel you were staying at. I should also say that this is a group tour, it is not a private tour. After having had to cancel, I went out of my way to go above my duty to organise your situation. I think you would have only been happy should I have paid for a private tour for you, which I can assure you we are not in a position to do which is explained in further detail in the next point. To liken a £59 ticket to a wedding is slightly absurd and given the facts of the day, I do not feel at all guilty for having had to cancel, only that I can sympathise with your disappointment. Secondly, and this is a very big point, I never once told you to walk to Hopetoun House. I told you to walk to South Queensferry town (10 minute walk) and catch a cab - I gave you directions several times of this and sent them in an sms message too. I made myself available should you have found yourself lost, which is obvious since it took you nearly 3 times the time it would have taken you to walk to Hopetoun (should that have been my advice, which it wasn't). We are a small company, we like taking small groups, most of our guides have families and after a busy season and with the schools going back, people and their kids are going to get ill last minute. I am fine with that, it is life. What I can say is that we give 110% at all times, and on the off chance we have an emergency like the one we did last weekend (a very big emergency too), we try and work around it such as offering the tour on different dates and calling our competitors to see if they can help. I am sorry that your birthday was ruined but had you taken my advice and my help which I offered openly and completely on the day, I am pretty sure, it would have worked out very differently. PS Refund was also sent on the day and there was never a question of this! Sincerely Catriona Stevenson

We took the tour to the military tattoo which stops at the Stirling Castle and Loch Lomond on the way from the Greenock cruise port. We are very seasoned travelers and have taken countless group tours all around Europe and The UK.

Our tour guides were very nice. However, the tour from beginning to end was extremely unorganized and certainly did not depict a 4.5 rated star tour company by TripAdvisor. We started the tour by stopping at a filthy rest stop. The bathrooms were absolutely vile. We have traveled all over the world and have never been brought to such a filthy restroom. Our next stop was to some bar which was filled with dead stuffed animals which did not have food. We were told that we would be eating at a restaurant at Stirling castle. We arrived late because the road was temporarily closed due to a Bicycle race. While this is not the tour guide’s fault, as a professional tour guide it is part of their responsibility to check for traffic and road closure information, especially when offering tour guides to cruise passengers who have limited time and must be back to the ship by a certain time. When we finally arrived at Stirling castle we found out that we had to pay 32 pounds to be able to have access to the restaurant. I asked the tour guide where we can get lunch and we were told that time wasn’t planned to get lunch in the town only in the castle. We ended up buying a candy bar for lunch as our only option was the gift shop. We also found out from other passengers that went into the castle that they didn’t have time to eat as their tour took the entire time allotted to us. When we got back to the buses we found out that our bus deserted us and the tour guides had to scramble to organize alternative travel arrangements as their was not enough room on the bus for everyone.

When we arrived at Edinburgh many of us were asking about eating a meal before the tattoo. Considering this was a 16 hour tour we were shocked that time for a meal was not built into this tour. We barely had time to quickly eat a sandwich before having to wait on the queue for the tattoo. We were told we would meet back at this specific location but we did not meet there. We were lucky to find the group at the end of the Tattoo. It was extremely difficult and stressful trying to follow the tour guides to our bus as we couldn’t see them in the huge crowd and they did not carry anything to help make them more visual as all other tours we have taken utilize for their guests. In addition, the bus was not where we were told it would be which just added to the stress and confusion.

In addition, we did not receive any bottled water or snacks, which was advertised and promised to us as part of our tour cost.

To be fair, I reached out to the owner of this company but she just made excuse after excuse and refused to take ownership of the extremely stressful and unorganized day that we were forced to deal with. This alone speaks volumes as to the professionalism and integrity of this tour company .

Needless to say, we are very disappointed with the quality of this tour. We would have had less stress finding our way from the ship on our own as we certainly did not get what we paid for. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for your travel needs while in Greenock/Glasgow.

On 9-11-19 arrived via Regal Princess in a group with reservations for 16. The private tour was to take us to Stirling Castle and Lock Lomond at 9:00 am. Arrived outside of pier where other tour guides were waiting at 8:45 am. No Clyde Coast. Tried calling their office and call went to voice mail several times. Emails were sent and automatic reply came back. Our group leader went to their web site and chatted with a representative from Clyde and was told our guide was on the way. This was after 10:00 am. She then received an additional chat from Clyde that they did not schedule our tour and would refund our payments and hoped we would use them on our next trip to Scotland. Are you kidding me this our first trip to Scotland and we were so looking forward to seeing these sites. What a disappoint!! Because of their incompetence we lost our only day to tour Scotland.
