Many people believe that this brooding lake in Northern Scotland, 21 square miles in size at an average depth of 800 feet, could certainly hide a large dinosaur-like "monster," the lake's long-time and elusive resident.

There is something about Loch Ness and I don't just mean the legend of Nessie. Like Skye and many places I have visited in Scotland it does have another worldly feel to it. Recommend you drive right around visit Dores beach and drive the far side of the loch really quite with many places to stop and go down to... More

It really up to you on how you enjoy this beautiful Loch you can do the full tourist thing and stop at the gift shop or visit the town that is centred around the legend or you can stop by yourself and enjoy the serenity of the lake and surrounding forest. You can sail the lake or go on one... More

We've all seen The pictures. We all know about the Loch Ness monster. But nothing could really prepare you for what seeing the Loch Ness in real life is actually like. It's very quiet really, and has an eerie feeling to it. It's easy to see how people may imagine a monster there. The Loch Ness is the largest Loch... More

One of the few places you really need to see if you visit Scotland. The first thing that strikes you is how huge the lake is. It's beautiful and picturesque in any weather. It's easy to see how people see monsters here because every ripple and wave looks like it could be Nessie.

We took a one hour cruise on this lake. I must say, this lake is huge & is so beautiful. For a moment, you would feel, as if you are cruising in some ocean & not some lake.

It's a wonderful Loch. The dark water of the Loch and the surroundings let you believe that there might be a strange creature living under water. The scenic is perfect for that. The hills around gives it a special charme. Unfortunately the water was too cold and the weather not good enough for a swim

My first Loch. I was surprised how big it was, long I should say. The spot where we decided to put our toes in the water, was a very stony shore. Peacful place.

The drive to the lake is very nice. There are great places to stop and eat or just relax. The lake drive is on the bus route and you realy don't need to pay for the tours. All the people who have seen lochness and loch lamond have said that the latter is better

A nice drive along the west side of the loch with several scenic attractions along the way including Urquhart Castle. The loch and the hills around it are quite pretty. The loch becomes the Ness River as it flows through Inverness to the sea. You can take cruises out of Inverness if you actually want to sail the loch.
