The station buildings were in need of some improvement for such a popular destination for tourists. The views to Skye and the Bridge to Skye were very good. The railway museum in the shop was looking very tired indeed and needs to be re-vitalised. The contents of the shop were very extensive and varied for all the family.

Can't say that it's particularly fancy but it's tastefully done and offers a nice selection of local crafts and a local brand of scotch whiskey that's very delicious.

The visitor centre is nice but quite small. They have some interesting train related stuff and things to buy in the shop. They also have a coffee machine in the shop. If you in the Kyle on a rainy day it is something to do.

This little museum is worth a look if you have a few minutes to spare while waiting for your train back to Inverness. It is run by volunteers so don't expect something as grand as the national railway museum. However it does contain some interesting memorabilia. The adjoining shop sells the usual array of cakes, drinks and snacks as well... More

A small display clearly run by enthusiasts and with popping into for ten minutes or so and combining with a meal in the restaurant also on the platform

This Museum is a good place to finish a visit to Kyle of Lochalsh while waiting for the train back to Inverness. Rail memorabilia is always of interest and the rooms are warm and cosy as well

Staff very cheerful and informative and if you take a ride on the Kyle line you get a map, lots of information and entry into the museum all for £3.

While on a trip to Kyle of Lochalsh I took up the opportunity to visit the Kyle Station Visitor Centre which was very enjoyable and if you are Kyle of Lochalsh make sure you visit.

We called in when enquiring about taking a train trip. This charming little place is clean, well lit, friendly and has a rather interesting range of souvenirs. We found a few interesting items that differ from the run of the mill stuff offered in so many other locations. We could have got a coffee there if we had wanted one.... More

When we arrived in Kyle of Lochalsh there was an old Pullman train in so we went in to the station to see it, While there we visited the Visitor centre and were not disappointed, the history of the Kyle railway and the old Pullman sitting outside went so well together. It turned out the old train had come from... More
