Initially you think this is a resonably priced distillery tour - at a fiver seems like a bargain to while away an hour...but the tour was very short. Video was broken, the guide vaguely answered questions from the other 'tourists'. Then at the end of the tour we were given a very small taste of a blended whisky. (I felt... More

The distillery is a bit out of town but clearly within walking distance of town. Call and make a reservation for the tour you want. The do a nicely done informative tour with a tasting at the end.

We were doing a tour of Scotland by motorhome and wanted to visit a distillery, this was easy to find with large car park. Able to park the van easily, however on the day of our visit, only one tour guide was available and one tour operating and we had missed it. A helpful member of staff showed as a... More

We arrived at lunch time and had a little wait for the next tour so decided to try the lentil and bacon soup. Bacon is an understatement as it was lovely chunks of gammon and probably the best soup I've had - absolutely delicious - so much so we popped in other days when out travelling just for the soup!!... When we arrived there was a large bus tour arrived. The place was extremely busy and they had whiskys out for tasting on a table. There was no supervision to this, so was not made clear it was for a specific group and my partner just wanted to try one. It was not even a full measure, just a taster... More

I noticed some of the very mixed reviews here. I think I know what happened. Our tour guide was an actual production line worker. If you are lucky enough to get him, you will have a very informative tour. Sorry, I don't remember his name. He answered every question, and he was thorough about the production techniques in distilling fine... More

I am reviewing the restaurant. I am not reviewing the tours because I did not go on a tour. The restaurant at the Ben Nevis Distllery was recommended as a good place to have lunch, and it certainly is. A group of six of us all had the soup - it was tomato the day we went, and the barman... More

The reception staff were most welcoming and accommodating and seemingly knowledgeable about the various offerings - as well as being willing to allow walk-in public to sample the products. The tour staff seemed less proficient. Nevertheless, this distillery has an interesting history of its own as well as that of its erstwhile sister distillery.

We visited this during a holiday with Shearings last week. The location of the disillery is beautifu, at the foot of Ben Nevis. When we arrived we were shown into a small cinema style room. Where an informative video was shown for about ten minutes. We were then shown round the distillery by a well informed young lady. The small... More
