A great day out with Scott up curved ridge on buachaille etive mor. Instruction of scrambling belays and some leading up less critical sections and abseil system demonstrated later in the day. Have used west coast mountain guides before and would continue to recommend and use in future.

What a day.The weather was typical skye on the cullin. Thick fog, rain and wind in July. My guide Steve is a true expert. I really struggled on the first pitch up the pin,my guide did his job and got me up and down in a calm and controlled manner. It was very greasy and once again Steve seemed to take... More

Just climbed Tower Ridge with WCMG. All guides know their stuff, but not all guides can make a day enjoyable. Steve has that great mix of being sociable and totally trustworthy. Brilliant.

due to poor weather the traverse was a none starter, however Scott Kirkhope (mountain guide for the trip) sat me down and we worked out an alternative which proved to be one of the best days I have experienced. Here is a brief route description, good luck with the pronunciation. We started climbing The Terrace to Cioch where we climbed the... More

My second guided climb on Ben Nevis, this time in summer. Ken and the team came up with the goods once more, and put me with a cracking guide who gave me an amazing day out. I don't think I'd go with another company after this - they really do their best to let you live the dream. Good communications... More

We spent three brilliant days with Ian our guide from West Coast Mountain Guides. Our plan was to gain experience of the Cuillin Ridge over two days as well as the Clach Glas to Blaven traverse on the third day. What a fantastic experience. I am so grateful to Ian who kept us safe and provided excellent guiding. Another highlight... More

Before starting this review, it is important to mention that I attempted a Cuillin traverse 12 months ago in May 2015. The attempt was thwarted by the weather, which is a significant factor in most expeditions into the hills, but especially so on the Cuillin. Shortly after returning from the 2015 attempt, which was also booked through West Coast Mountain... More

A one day expedition by sea from Mallaig to the head of Loch Nevis, and then to the top of Ben Aden and back. In and out by boat. The guide arranged at short notice. Tom of WCMG was the total professional. Ensuring I had the right equipment, anticipating river crossing problems, selecting the right route through the crags, cheerfully... More

Booked Scott and Ian through West Coast Guides to scramble the Aonach Eagach, In Pin and Sgurr Mhic Choinnich. We had two different guides but both were fantastic and extremely competent in guiding and instructing two novices. Our rock climbing experience had been a long time ago! Both guides were very personable and great fun to be with on the... More
