I visited today to go to the hairdresser for a patch test before my appointment next week. I was wearing a mask, opened the front door to be greeted with 2 girls, staff, holding up their hands going 'stop!' I must admit I was a bit startled. I told them re patch test....one of the women took charge with responses and she was very rude, abrupt and unhelpful. I'm glad I'm not visiting the gym! Basically I was told no one was there and she didn't know when any of the hairdressers would be there again. I'll try again next week in the hope I meet with someone more helpful.

I have been a member at Bannatynes for 7+ years and absolutely love the community/business that has been growing for years, However in the past year it has become an absolute joke.
A new swim school has opened up that seems to have a major lack In management, children screaming and running around in the changing rooms and by the pool instructors smile and do nothing about it. The swimming lane is getting used for kids lessons near to every day meaning people trying to complete laps of the pool are having to fight for space when asking management about this you get shrugged off and told they have a new line that should be put out when lessons are on, still however waiting to see this new line in action! Due to the amount of new traffic going through the changing rooms the place is filthy at times which is ridiculous especially when members are paying near to £50 each, monthly! I feel so sorry for the young girl Ruth on the front desk she seems to take everything in her stride, always happy to help, welcoming people and always smiling however I’ve seen her having to hoover, mop, cleaning toilets (scrubbing), wiping tables, doing dishes all while answering phones and greeting people. Give the poor lass a medal or at least a pay rise. I and others have never seen any other staff members doing that, when she is off it does not seem to get done either!
Management on the other hand are shocking, I’ve never seen any of them helping, when asked to help they look like they have been asked to run a marathon, the offices through the back always look dirty and cluttered (first thing we see coming in), I have never witnessed a single decent interaction with members (never had one myself either) every time I have seen them they are on their phones or eating both in the offices and on the front desk, very poor and honestly makes me wonder how they got their jobs considering they have a very clear alternative option who holds herself to a much higher standard. Other members have definitely noticed all of this as it’s a major topic of discussion when changing/in saunas (saunas that took 6 months to fix another hot topic) and many members are debating canceling and going else where, myself included, something needs done to change this situation as it is beyond ridiculous.

Really disappointed with my recent trip here. Have visited many times before and have never experienced anything like this at all. I was taken in to what can only be described as some sort of store room. The table was cramped in the middle of the room. The floor was so dirty as was the sink. The bed was so close to think sink that every time the therapist (Roxanne) put the tap on (full flow and so noisy!) my back was soaked from the tap! She was so rude, hurried my treatment. Wasn’t aware of any of my health concerns noted on my consultation form. The main light on the roof was left on during the whole treatment. It was so so unpleasant and so stressful. Absolutley not relaxing at all. This was my first trip to a spa in a very long time due to mental health reasons. I was so apprehensive about this appointment but assured myself due to previous experiences it would be fine. How wrong was I. Also after looking back at my photos I took once I entered the room it is obvious that the towels on the bed were not changed before my treatment. Makes me feel ill! Will definitely not be back.

This was my first ever experience of a spa treatment and so I had no idea what to expect. Me and my daughter arrived and were asked to complete a short form about medical history and then we hired a robe/towel and slippers for £3. We were then told that the changing rooms were downstairs and the spa was upstairs so we could either come back to reception to get in the lift or go up the stairs near the changing rooms. The robes didn't fit either of us and I asked for larger ones. (With hindsight we shouldn't have even worn them and got a refund however, mine was extremely small and there was no chance I was going in to reception wearing it so we went up the stairs.) Once we had found the spa reception we were asked to wait in the relaxation room where we found 2 couples. I had to attempt to cover myself fully with the towels and it was embarrassing. We were told that larger robes were not available. Once in the treatment room it became apparent that what we had bought vouchers for was not available. We had booked 'wraps' but the therapist said this was a 'scrub'. Anyway it later became clear that this wasn't suitable for me and I was offered a facial and a 'manicure' and my daughter was offered a back massage and a facial. When it came time for my 'manicure' the therapist said it was just a basically a nail paint. I chose a colour and this was applied. I was told that it would take up to 45 minutes to dry and we then returned to the waiting room. I wasn't prepared to sit there in an embarrassingly small robe so we opted to leave, consequently ruining my nails. Just a fiasco from start to finish. No apology. Not even a offer for a refund for the robe 'hire' which in the end weren't necessary. We are both sad and angry and were too humiliated and shocked to start complaining at the time. Maybe we should have. This was supposed to be a Christmas present.

I've been a member here for some time now but am considering my options. The place has gone to pot ! Yesterday's visit was typical of how it has been for months now. Dirty foostie smelling changing area. The toilets stank. Again. No idea when they were last cleaned properly. The gym has a dated look and many of the cardio machines have seen better days. As recently as a few weeks ago , there were FOUR treadmills out of order. A planned refurb has been put back 6 months which is a shame as the place needs attention NOW.

Also : there is a OAP's swimming class in 2-3 times a week. I wouldn't mind but they think they own the place and show a lack of respect for other club users. The pool does not belong to you and you need to shower BEFORE entering the pool. That rule applies to everybody , something that you appear to neglect - your 'blue rinses' will survive the trauma .

I'm not usually one for coming on here ranting and raving but I found the previous manager to be unaproachable / unsympathetic. He left two weeks ago. Lets hope the new manager improves things. He has his work cut out...............

Lovely smell when you walk into the spa, went through to the relaxation room to wait which has lovely heated beds. I filled in a questionaire form. I had booked a 30 min back massage with Emma Louise. The massage was very relaxing & Emma Louise was very professional and managed to get the knots out of my shoulders, l could have fallen asleep. I have rebooked for 55 mins the next time which l would highly recommend.
Many thanks.

My spa treatment of back, shoulder, neck and head massage with Stephanie (from Auldearn) was very relaxing and released all the tension I arrived with! Stephanie has a lovely touch and pressure was just right. She is also a lovely friendly girl and made me feel at ease straight away. Would recommend.
