We stumbled across this place by mistake. It's quite well hidden. It is however well worth a visit. Many interesting artefacts about local history and much about how the land developed since prehistoric times. I have visited many Scottish museums over the years, but this...More

A wealth of information and a walk through the beginnings of Scotland until now. Very good displays and a lovely cafe to finish off with tea and cake.

Hidden next to the castle, its a great little museum that has a nice history of Inverness & area from prehistoric times thru to the present.

Wonderful boutique museum offering geological and historical overview of Inverness and the highlands. The geological perspective of this area is amazing then add in the human element over 10k years and one's gets a better perspective of the sights and the history.

This is a fairly small place with museum on the ground floor and gallery above. Concentrating on the geology and early history of the Highlands. Staff really friendly. Worth a visit and it is free- donations welcomed.

I love Highland history, and my grandmothers family is from the Highlands, and I still learned things here. Great displays on the Picts and other peoples living in the area over time. However, displays here seemed very out of sequence and hard to follow. They...More
