Steam through the stunning Scottish Highlands in style. Our steam engines take you on a very special trip through the Cairngorms National Park as you travel between Aviemore, Boat of Garten and Broomhill. Why not make your trip extra special with one of our dining on board options: Light Lunch offers soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee; Afternoon Tea has some sandwiches, scones with jam and cream followed by some delicious cakes; or enjoy a full three course Sunday Lunch or Dinner. Why not upgrade to First Class to enjoy a meal in one of our compartments, finely decorated in it's own tartan, with vintage British Rail mirrors and luggage racks inside.Split your trip up with a visit to Boat of Garten to explore some fantastic walk trails or bring your bike on board to explore the great cycle routes in the area. See if you can beat the train back from Broomhill on your bike!We are also taking part in the Great Railway Treasure Hunt 2013, so there's plenty for the kids to do on the trip!

Would highly recommend the Strathspey Steam Railway. Was here at the weekend for a friends birthday and did the afternoon tea. Choice of sandwiches, and then a selection of scones and mini cakes. Full bar there too. It is a lovely trip through some gorgeous scenery, and you can go and get pics with the driver too. Would highly recommend.

I recently booked this as a treat for a special birthday - sunday lunch aboard the Strathspey steam train, dining in a First Class compartment. My other half was chuffed (no pun intended) to bits and loved the whole experience, as did I. With the food and first drinks pre-ordered, service was promptly started. The whole thing was just over... More

Easter Sunday lunch special, pulled by a 100 year old steam engine through some fine scenery while eating a first class Sunday lunch of pate, roast beef, strawberries and cream; just perfect. All served by warm staff who did a great job, thank you. We highly recommend this as a trip.

We had afternoon tea in a first class carriage which was private. There were four of us and the food and drink included in our ticket was great value for money.Good choice too. There was also a bar on the train where you could purchase alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. First class carriages have waiter service so you don't have... More

We had our first visit on the railway on the 12th April for our mums 80th Birthday treat. We had the lunch option with tea/coffee, sandwiches and soup. I was able to get a Gluten free option and my teenagers were well catered for to as they are a bit fussy with food. My sister snagged her jeans on a... More
