Good connections inside the country and UK in general
I was here to take a train ot Edinburgh and the place was good. There are the regular facitlities and shops for everything a traveller might need. Multiple entrances and exits from the road and side streets was very useful to avoid crowds.

    Busy, easily navigable.
Although busy, it was still an extremely easy station to navigate throughout most of my holiday. However on my final trip via this station additional barriers had been put in that led to some confusion around where to go for which platform. Would have been helpful to have additional signage / more vocal staff. Good range of useful shops, mostly for food.

    Just a superb building.
A stunning piece of victorian architecture. A truely beautiful building with a concourse to rival anything in other outstanding train stations like Grand Central for example. Very clean and well looked after.

Central tour with Jackie - Brilliant
Went on the tour with my 13 year old son last week. Our tour guide was Jackie and I have to say not only was the whole tour interesting, really getting to see some parts of the station you've never seen before but Jackie was amazing. Start to finish she had us all engrossed and she is so animated that it really keeps everyone interested and lively. Would love to do it again soon with my wife as she would love it to. Can't wait, excellent couple of hours

    perfect transportation
The train station runs a great service. You can access almost anywhere in Scotland from here. We used it a number of times to get around and access other areas. It was always on time and the price was very fare.

    Funny and informative
We have been meaning to go on this tour for some time now and eventually got round to it. So glad we did! It was definitely worth the wait and thoroughly enjoyable. Our tour guide, Paul, was funny, informative and interesting, recounting stories which helped bring the whole tour to life. You don’t even need to be a railway enthusiast to enjoy this tour.

    History brought to life
What a fabulous tour. Our Guide, Jackie, brought both the history of the station and Glasgow to life with enthusiasm and humour. We were very well looked after with water and strategically placed seating round the areas we visited. We would highly recommend the tour.

    Jackie is the Best
The tour was fabulous. Our guide, Jackie was the best...energetic, knowledgeable and passionate about restoring areas of the old station. She made the tour. We learned so very much. Don't miss this hidden gem. A great way to spend a few hours.

    Marvellous tour!
All four of us loved this tour - our guide Paul Lyons brought the place to life. To be honest there’s not all that much to see in the tunnels and without Paul’s very entertaining and enlightening commentary the tour could have been quite dull. Warning to people with mobility problems, there’s a lot of walking up and down stairs. We’ll definitely be returning in a few months when the steam locomotive is installed on the lowest level. All the improvements come from receipts from tours so your money is going to a really worthwhile cause. There’s a lot of excellent rail safety work done with school children too. So first-class experience and thoroughly recommend it.

    Glasgow Central Station tour
Absolutely brilliant tour of Central Station. Could not believe how much was hidden below the public concourse. Our guide Jackie was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. She was passionate about her subject and her delivery style was perfect for the event…can thoroughly recommend it.

If your looking for something 'different' to do in Glasgow, then book yourself a ticket on the Glasgow Central Station Tour. You will not be disappointed. You will hear stories of the past and visit parts of this unique, iconic building that you didn't even know were there. I must mention Paul, our tour guide. His knowledge of Central Station is terrific and his passion and enthusiasm for this project is infectious. Hopefully they will manage to acquire some additional exhibits that will make an already fantastic tour, truly amazing!

This tour was a fantastic way to see how the recent history of Scotland has changed one of its iconic buildings. Paul Lyons our guide was brilliant as he breathed passion whilst conducting the various parts of it. His enthusiasm and wit made it enthralling and hopefully he can receive the funding he needs to develop this into not only one of the best attractions in Glasgow but the UK.

The tour was brought to life by the knowledge of the tour guide, retired station master from Paddington and many other large mainline stations. He is passionate about the long history of Glasgow central station and believes that this must be passed on to future generations. His teams untiring work of unearthing, literally, past histories and continually adding to the tour agenda, showing some of the two square miles of the station in areas not available for general access.
Definitely worth the tour especially for engineers, an interest in railways, Glasgow's development history enabled by railways.
If it’s a dreich day in Glasgow this is the tour to take - could be sunny when you return to the surface.

We had a great day on the Glasgow Central Station tour, Jackie was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about all aspects of the tour. Having been in the station many times over the years it was very interesting to see the parts of the station that are no longer open to the general public.

The museum was very interesting and it was good to see it in the flesh as we had seen Jackie talk about it on the television programme . We would highly recommend the tour to anyone who wants to know more about the history of this fabulous station.

Outside the museum is a slide show about the role the station played in the repatriation of the armed forces of the Great War, a very sobering episode .

We will go again and hopefully see the Victorian platform when it is refurbished. A most enjoyable day out, thanks in no small measure to our fabulous tour guide Jackie

What a wonderful hour and fifteen minutes tour of the Central Station. Our tour guide Paul Lyons was the perfect host . He gave us a wonderful insight into so much of the history of the Station. His enthusiasm shone through from start to finish. So much more will be added to the tour over the coming months with a steam engine , shop and ticket office coming soon. Looking forward to going back again when the new items are in place.

I was on this tour yesterday with some colleagues from the CIOB, it was a real eye opener, full of interest, intrigue and the tour guide Paul was enthralling. Everyone in our group loved the tour and Pauls' inimitable style really added to the experience. As a proud Glaswegian, there was so much I just didn't know about the iconic Central Station and the vital role it served in both world wars. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who has in interest in Glasgow, Scotland, social history or architecture.

Hi,
was on the tour last night (15/11/2022) Jackie was our tour Guide, absolutely amazing tour, the passion Jackie showed for her job was brilliant. the information we found out about our city was truely emtional and educatonal. My husnad and 2 sons attended and Jackie catered for all ages, even a 12year grmupy boy, who was reluctant to attend was laughing!:)

could not reccommend the tour enough, when the steam train arrives we will be booking again! Jackie is your golden nugget. thankyou Jackie for educating us and reminding us what a great train station Glasgow Central really is (also our City) makes you go home feeling proud

We paid £18 to leave a small rucksack and a handbag for 8 hours. (I have since realised there are much cheaper options nearby). The lady on duty when the bags were handed in in the morning was rude and unhelpful, insisting that we took the 2 phone chargers out of the bags (I've been through security at airports all over the world and never had to remove chargers!!). Then, she did not offer a surface I could use to unpack my handbag so I had to put all my possessions on the floor to find the charger. Very expensive, very unfriendly and not a good welcome to Glasgow. If the station is going to offer left luggage facilities, they need to be competitively priced and the staff need to be trained in customer service.

Went on the tour today for the second time and I found it absolutely fascinating! I loved the museum and could have happily spent longer looking at the different exhibits. Our host, Paul Lyons, was very engaging band told many stories about the history of this fascinating building. I can highly recommend the Glasgow Central Station Tour!

One of Scotland’s more accessible large train stations. Unlikely Queen Street, the toilets remain free to anyone needing access to their (essential anyway, but doubly so to those of us with disabilities). Staff generally on hand for any support required, good number of self-service machines, etc.. Signage is consistent, with the only real issue ever occurring being how the huge queues that emerge to the left-most side of the station are ordered - limiting ease of movement around this part of the station during particularly busy times.
