- Michelle RMinneapolis, Minnesota16 contributionsArchitecture is the best thing about itGorgeous building, high end shopping. Worth a look but we were in and out in 15 mins. My husband and our 18 yo son couldn’t be less interested in the boutique stores. But we all loved the building and seeing how they made a mall feel unique.Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 29, 2023
- alibatty🦇Dundee, United Kingdom19,711 contributionsOpulent AtriumPrinces Square was originally an open cobbled courtyard with stables, but this 4 storeyed merchant building was designed & built in its place, in 1841 , by Glaswegian architect John Baird. Sir James Campbell , who was the Lord Provost of Glasgow, commissioned it in honour of the birth of the Prince of Wales ( who later became King Edward VII) It opened as shopping & dining premises in 1988, and has since undergone a £ 7.5 million extensive refurbishment, to become a prestigious, up-market retail outlet , with exclusive boutiques, designer stores, jewellery shops , cafes, bars and restaurants - all on spotless galleried floors , under a beautiful Art Nouveau glass roof. The graceful wooden staircases with the wrought-iron work , and the glass elevators add to the elegance of this listed building. A “must” visit at Christmas for the opulent decorations.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 3, 2024
- Paul M1 contributionA night at the cinema that ends with a dance or two.I went to Princes Square on Buchanan Street to go to the Everyman cinema which is the best cinema experience I've had. Not only do they offer you a restaurant menu but they will deliver your order to your cinema seat. Speaking of the cinema seats. You can get a two-seater for you and your partner. And the seats are large and plush: very much like sitting on a sofa. Ideal for couples who enjoy going to the cinema. It's very easy to let your partner snuggle into you as you eat your meal and watch a movie. I hear there's a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights that's advertised by October Rooftop Bar. So, if you go for an evening showing of a movie on Friday and Saturday at Everyman, you could probably end your evening at the cinema with a cocktail and a dance or two to the DJ's music. Check out the Everyman and the October websites to know more.Visited January 2024Traveled with familyWritten January 13, 2024

There is lots to see with beautiful architecture and interesting interior. There are many places to eat and drink with a quiet space on the lower ground floor if you fancy a quiet space to take in the beauty of the place.Visited August 2024Traveled soloWritten August 9, 2024

Went for a meal with my wife on Tuesday night to take advantage of the eat out to help out. We were sat out at one of the balconies and watched numerous people walking about without wearing a face mask, some even thought it ok to carry it in their hand, others more keen on checking their phone. Some of the restaurants require you to walk past patrons even if not eating there and it put real fear in me that the majority thought it ok to walk past these tables without masks on, subjecting the people eating to the possibility of getting Covid. Princess Square need to take some responsibility and have security in place as going by a Tuesday night, people seem to think it is an outdoor space and can just wander from floor to floor as if there is not something out there that can actually kill people. I want the shops and restaurants to stay open and people to keep their jobs but if this continues, I fear for the workers as there will be another lockdown if this attitude from people continues.

We popped in here at 7.30 pm thinking this place would be buzzing. Shops closed, restaurants and bars empty. Granted we had not been here for many years but we were shocked at what we saw. It looked as though it had been left as a reminder of times past, a museum set!

This place which was an open square once has been very tastefully converted in to four floors of glass covered indoor amenity. The entrance is a narrow covered alley from Buchanan Street next door to No. 42 which is Hotel Chocolat. All the floors are accessible by lifts, escalators and stairs. Ground floor has a pub and a large circular area for children and toddlers to run around. Lower floors accommodate boutiques and designer shops. Top floor has a variety of restaurants and coffee shops. The staff were very polite and helpful even if you were not patronising their establishment.
Amazingly, most people were complying with mask wearing while moving about.

The center looks impressive and well maintained. There is a selection of up market shops and restaurants. But, it is the restaurants that are the downfall of this place. They have spread out on to the walkways, making it difficult to navigate. This makes it very uncomfortable as people walking round the centre squeeze past people eating their meals.

Fabulous indoor shopping and restaurant square, elegantly restored and adorned with wrought iron floral decoration, glass roof, and stunning staircases. Just off Buchanan Street and easy to miss. But absolutely worth seeking out

High end shops have found a home in the Prince’s Square in Glasgow, a place people go to admire the architecture, the trim and features, the never-ending escalators. It is still a shopping mall, after all.
We delighted in unique furnishings like the Harry Potter style mirror and the oversized deck chairs, where we sat to listen to a local choir giving renditions of Hallelujah and then Bohemian Rhapsody? This is a stylish place. You can pop in for a look, but if you’re coming to shop, maybe take your own wardrobe up a notch first.
