Gorgeous building, high end shopping. Worth a look but we were in and out in 15 mins. My husband and our 18 yo son couldn’t be less interested in the boutique stores. But we all loved the building and seeing how they made a mall feel unique.

Princes Square was originally an open cobbled courtyard with stables, but this 4 storeyed merchant building was designed & built in its place, in 1841 , by Glaswegian architect John Baird. Sir James Campbell , who was the Lord Provost of Glasgow, commissioned it in honour of the birth of the Prince of Wales ( who later became King Edward VII) It opened as shopping & dining premises in 1988, and has since undergone a £ 7.5 million extensive refurbishment, to become a prestigious, up-market retail outlet , with exclusive boutiques, designer stores, jewellery shops , cafes, bars and restaurants - all on spotless galleried floors , under a beautiful Art Nouveau glass roof. The graceful wooden staircases with the wrought-iron work , and the glass elevators add to the elegance of this listed building. A “must” visit at Christmas for the opulent decorations.

I went to Princes Square on Buchanan Street to go to the Everyman cinema which is the best cinema experience I've had. Not only do they offer you a restaurant menu but they will deliver your order to your cinema seat. Speaking of the cinema seats. You can get a two-seater for you and your partner. And the seats are large and plush: very much like sitting on a sofa. Ideal for couples who enjoy going to the cinema. It's very easy to let your partner snuggle into you as you eat your meal and watch a movie. I hear there's a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights that's advertised by October Rooftop Bar. So, if you go for an evening showing of a movie on Friday and Saturday at Everyman, you could probably end your evening at the cinema with a cocktail and a dance or two to the DJ's music. High end shops have found a home in the Prince’s Square in Glasgow, a place people go to admire the architecture, the trim and features, the never-ending escalators. It is still a shopping mall, after all. We delighted in unique furnishings like the Harry Potter style mirror and the oversized deck chairs, where we sat to listen to a local choir giving renditions of Hallelujah and then Bohemian Rhapsody? This is a stylish place. You can pop in for a look, but if you’re coming to shop, maybe take your own wardrobe up a notch first.

I love visiting Princess Square mainly to admire the actual building itself. There is lots to see with beautiful architecture and interesting interior. There are many places to eat and drink with a quiet space on the lower ground floor if you fancy a quiet space to take in the beauty of the place.
