I had a great half day Photo Walk in Glasgow with Tom. He taught me a huge amount of new photography skills and techniques which I will nurture and develop.
What I was also really impressed about was his knowledge of Glasgow. He told me a huge amount of really interesting stuff about my native city which I wasn't aware of.
We covered a lot of ground in half a day, however it still seemed to be done at a perfect pace, and never hurried. The half day flew in really quickly.
If you are looking for a really interesting, informative and skill-building professional photo walk then Tom is your man.
Photography, history and culture, a perfect combination!

Excellent day all round. Tom who was in charge of the trip was informative, nothing was too much trouble. As well as helping with all things photographic he had knowledge of the history of the glencoe area. This was an added bonus. Highly recommend photowalkscotland

My daughter and I joined Tom for a photo walk around Glasgow and it was an absolutely fantastic day! We were originally going to skip Glasgow, but I'm so glad we didn't. Tom is friendly, a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Glasgow's history, and has a great sense of humor. I'm a passionate photography enthusiast, but I still learned a lot from Tom! He showed us hidden spots and special angles to get stunning images that tell a story. The tour also rekindled my daughter's love of photography. It was one of the best days we have spent in Scotland so far. We already plan to come back in the future and will definitely be booking another adventure with Tom!

Amazing tour through Glencoe & Glen Etive. I've been several times before and often struggled to take photographs that convey the majesty of this landscape. Tom showed us several spots just off the beaten track that I would never have found without his guidance. With the popular views like the white cottage he suggested and encouraged us to find different perspectives.
I felt so much more relaxed and able to enjoy the walks without the pressure of figuring out the best shot, knowing it was all taken care of and the angle I'll get will be the best possible view of this landscape. I did professional photography at one point in my career and know my way around a camera, but I feel like I still learned new things. It was also great to try out new bits of kit, such as filters.
The walks we did to different 'photo spots' are suitable for all levels, I never felt pushed past what I'm comfortable with. I got the sense that Tom had several trails in mind and would be able to offer more challenging trails to the keener hikers.
Could not recommend Photo Walks Scotland enough to anyone with an interest in photography and Scottish landscapes. And it did wonders for my Instagram account :)

Hi Ana, thank you so much for your extremely kind words and fantastic review. I am so pleased that you got so much from the day. We were really lucky with the weather (not to mention the lack of midges) and Glencoe did its very best to shine for us. Great company, great weather and great company. Look forward to seeing you again. Tom

Tom is an exceptional guide who provided the best small group tour I've ever experienced. Besides the amazing whisky distilleries tour, taught me some photography skills, took us to the most picturesque vistas imaginable. His keen attention to detail, flexibility and passion for his work made the experience magical and memorable. Highly recommended.

Tom was a friendly and knowledgeable guide and showed us some hidden gems to photograph in our 4 hour tour of central Edinburgh, as well as filling in a lot on the history of the area. He not only shared technical tips on taking better photos and how to adjust camera settings, but also how to tell a story with them which was great. I will now be seeking out old graveyards for more atmospheric and artistics shots!

We had a great walk with Tom through the East End. Lots of discussion about the history of Glasgow, hints for taking a Greta photograph.
Tom was aware we were interested in the street art as well, so made sure to show us some of art along our tour around the East End.
The great thing is he kept to outpace.
Throughly enjpyed the day.

Just returned from a tour in the Torridon area on the West coast of Scotland. This is the second I have taken with Tom Docherty and Photo Walk Scotland, previously to the Isle of Skye and both have been thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile. Everything is faultlessly organised and everyone is made to feel welcome. His knowledge of the history and geography of the locations visited is amazing. He is a very accomplished photographer, always willing to help and advise. Book any one of his tours and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Hi Tommy, would there be a 1 day outside of Glasgow tour 14 or 15 March 2020 that the 2 of us could join? If so, what would be the price? Thanks, Andrea

Hi Myrna,
Unfortunately we don't run our Evening Workshops during the summer months due to the fact that it doesn't get properly dark until really late. We'll be starting them up again at the end of September....
