This is a well located and spacious square which is dominated by the impressive City Chambers. When it is devoid of Christmas decorations and attractions, it looks a bit bleak and really lacks some classy styling touches such as lighting, trees, planted areas.

The square has some fantastic statues of well known Scottish notables. We were there on Robert Burns birthday so his statue was adorned with bouquets of flowers. The grasses areas are all cordoned off with barriers which made it look untidy. At night it seems...More

Has Glasgow Council forgotten the "hundreds" of trees that once graced this Square and made it a jewel to walk around or sit and enjoy a break. Now its like Edinburgh Squares only without all their lovely trees - cut grass and flower beds but...More

George square had awesome Christmas lights this year and a Christmas market. Best to travel in via public transport and walk to square. New bus routes limit the number of ways to drive in.

Always great to be in George Square around this time of the year with the carnival like atmosphere. There's fairground rides, a ferris wheel, lots of food & gift stalls. The statues here are still visible and protected with barriers.
