As long as there is no ongoing work on the roads George Square is a great photography spot - on a good day there is shards of sunshine that hit the monuments. The architecture is some of the best in Glasgow.

Our hotel was just off of George Square. My husband and I grabbed our morning coffees and treats from the costa outside our hotel, sat in the park benches and drank coffees with view of the city Chambers. Not a sketchy park or anything in...More

I wish that I had been there during special occasions like during the holiday season, as it seems that this becomes a center of activity in Glasgow. In July it's just a decent square surrounded by some interesting buildings and a crowd of pigeons. I...More

A smaller version of Trafalgar Square. Instead of Nelson though, you have Sir Walter Scott in the middle. Some great architecture surrounding the square. Pity about the amount of pigeons and gulls. All the statues are covered in birds muck! People are feeding the pigeons...More

George Square is full of historic monuments and statues. It is worth about 20 -30 minutes just walking around taking in some of the historic buildings and architecture. Usefully, it is the start point for the Glasgow Hop on – Hop off bus too.

There are lots of statues in the square and this is very much a happening place for other things to visit... The place for the Hop on Hop Off. Big statue of Sir Walter Scott, war heroes etc.

The swirl of people surrounded by traffic and grazing bird life makes this square hard to enjoy. Some good and some really bad buildings available.

It’s just a square with many statues and birds. Many people come here when the weather is good. Some people also take lunch here. Or just for meeting friends. Nothing special. Just few statues (with birds dropping on their heads)
