As long as there is no ongoing work on the roads George Square is a great photography spot - on a good day there is shards of sunshine that hit the monuments. The architecture is some of the best in Glasgow.

I wish that I had been there during special occasions like during the holiday season, as it seems that this becomes a center of activity in Glasgow. In July it's just a decent square surrounded by some interesting buildings and a crowd of pigeons.
A smaller version of Trafalgar Square. Instead of Nelson though, you have Sir Walter Scott in the middle. Some great architecture surrounding the square. Pity about the amount of pigeons and gulls. All the statues are covered in birds muck! People are feeding the pigeons...More
George Square is full of historic monuments and statues. It is worth about 20 -30 minutes just walking around taking in some of the historic buildings and architecture. Usefully, it is the start point for the Glasgow Hop on – Hop off bus too.

Many people come here when the weather is good. Some people also take lunch here. Or just for meeting friends.
