The walkway into the bar very dark and smells of urine .
3 people behind the bar ,2 talking to 2 person cutting up lemons ,,we stood and waited to be served ,no acknowledgement, it was quite quiet, nobody else waiting to be served ,,we were just about to walk out when man asked what our drinks order was ,,I told him and I'm pretty sure he just made yo a figure of £10 .
I paid and we sat outside ,very messy rubbish everywhere ,on the tables and the ground .
It was quite disappointing and disgusting ,,as a visitor to Glasgow ,we won't be back..

Found it accidentally, a nice local lady working close to them told me about them as i was kinda lost in the area :) Fab espresso, tasty coocked food. Safety measures on place. Friendly staff, reasonable price
s. I took a look at some boards on the walls, looks like a place supporting charity causes, had a live music before the lockdown. Definitely will recommend it to my customers (i work in a hotel in Merchant city) and for sure be back again myself.

As I have read previously, 'one barmaid' let's the team down. No doubt it's the same one. (RUDE)
Arrived at 5.50pm to be told the kitchen was closed.
Four folk arrived after 6pm and their food order was taken without an issue from a different member of staff.
Zero communication between staff.
Love the pub otherwise on any other night.

First time here so stopped in for a pint which led to about 4 and a whisky 🤣 with my partner.
There was live music on and a nice vibe and the bar staff and the locals were very friendly.
Met some tourists visiting Glasgow who were saying how much they also loved this pub and this city.
Will definitely come back again for another few beers and a dram.

Popped in for a quick pint yesterday. Eclectic mix of background music. Roy Orbison, The Sweet, Ac/Dc, Judas Priest. Pizza and pint deal looked good value at £8.50.Fair sized pizza. Pity we didn't have more to to sample it. Nice time.

We visited here on a Saturday night for a couple of drinks before heading back to our hotel. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and managed to get a table in the main bar area. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the pub had a good atmosphere. We would recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

The owners vowed to get the bar renovated and open for business. Alas there does not appear to be any sign of this happening. What a tragedy, especially after the devastating event of the helicopter crash killing regulars. Unbelievable that there has been no progress on the bar being renovated. A crying shame.

In reply to the previous statement about the Clutha Bar's El Cantante Sessions held on the 31st of May this year:

The Clutha Bar has been a showcase for amateur-expert musicians since the day it opened it's doors, and that is through the undeniable hospitality and good nature of both the staff, the attendees, and the event organisers who have the kindness in their hearts to bring all musicians, young and old, into the venue to give them the platform they deserve for their good work. The Clutha Bar is, in my opinion, the epicentre of the Glasgow music scene due to it's vigour and character.

On this occasion, like any other, I was welcomed into the venue by all members of staff and all of the people involved in promoting this event. The night was filled with young, creative musicians who had vigour and enthusiasm bleeding into their performances, truly a sight to behold. This was all thanks to the promoter's kind nature and approachability that these artists, young and old, felt inclined to put their heart and soul into their performances which, in my opinion, truly gives a sense of community, that of which is embedded deep in the Glasgow music scene. Unfortunately, this sense of community and unity was disrupted by a middle aged gentleman (whom I had never seen attend the venue before) caused disruption by conversing at an inappropriate level which even put myself off of my performance. I had brought a couple of my close friends to the venue who had made a comment about this gentleman, with one even saying;
"He is nye-on heckling the singers"
To which I was immediately made aware that it was not only myself who was feeling intimidated and disrupted by this gentleman, but guests, who have time and time again proclaimed the undoubtable sense of community and culture in The Clutha Bar.

Thusly, the aforementioned "bearded young hipster with a bunnet", whom might I add is a 40 year old, respected, touring musician worldwide, made multiple announcements on the microphone between acts that the guests and musicians alike should take consideration to the level of volume at which they speak at, as it would be an immense sign of respect to both the performers and the venue, as the performers are playing these events out of the goodness of their heart, and their vigour. After, from what I can recall, three similar announcements from the aforementioned "bearded young hipster with a bunnet" the middle aged gentleman proceeded to maintain the volume of his belligerence , which would be seen as a disrespectful feat. In turn, the "bearded young hipster with a bunnet" approached the middle aged gentleman and made him aware of the previous announcements, to which the gentleman retorted with an unneeded, unnecessary, forthright sense of violence by hitting the "bearded young hipster with a bunnet" on his elbow which he had recently injured, so much so that he required a support sling. Naturally, a sense of violence such as that demands only an act of retaliation, as this middle aged gentleman made it clear that violence was his intention, and I can safely say what the "bearded young hipster with a bunnet" did was an act of self defence in total retaliation to one man's senseless act of violence.

In conclusion, The El Cantante Sessions held in The Clutha Bar every Wednesday night is a treat for all budding musicians who desire a platform and who desire to perform at a respectable venue.

First time back to the Clutha for many years when in my younger days I was a regular customer of the three pups in what used to be known as the hippy triangle. Clutha, Victoria and Old Scotia. Great atmosphere in a traditional Glasgow pup with excellent live music. Clutha and Scotia haven't changed much although, sadly, the Victoria has now been converted into a trendy bistro that seemingly has failed. Notice from the Sheriff Officer displayed adjacent to the entrance instructing the previous tenants that they were barred from entering the premises.

We have been regulars at The Clutha Wednesday night music session since October and it's by far the best night in Glasgow. Attracting musicians from all over the world with original material and interesting covers, made even better with the addition of Campbell on saxophone. In the 8 months I've been attending and playing, I've never seen any trouble of any kind. It's a fantastic group of people who support each other and it's always great fun. Was most disappointed to see the review that is pretty much made up below. I was in attendance that evening and I, and numerous others, can tell you that review is a total distortion of events. I was sitting opposite when the people were speaking very loudly over all the acts, the host asked twice at least over the mic for them to speak more quietly and you can clearly hear them on our friends video of his set. As someone who doesn't drink I could see they had been drinking a lot and maybe shouldn't have even been served in the first place. As the host approached them to be quiet, we were sitting opposite with a full view. The host had a broken arm, in a sling and one of the gentlemen punched his arm. You could see how painful it was, immediately all the musicians in attendance leapt up to stop the situation escalating. I have never seen anything like this and I'm absolutely disgusted that the owner would take this review as gospel without checking with the people who go every week and never cause any trouble.
