Came last night for the Louis Theroux Scientology movie. The cinema is lovely, although i think the floors were getting redone so i had some white dust all over my shoes when i left but one of the staff did apologise for this and it was really no bother at all. All the staff i interacted with were very friendly... More

As a Tourist, I went yesterday to see the 40th Anniversary, 4K remaster of David Bowie's "Man Who Fell To Earth". Beautiful digital projection, brand new leather seats that even smelled brand new, and seats are staggered from the previous row, with little or nothing to block your view. It is a small building, narrow hallway. I walked right past... More

Been going here for years. Lovely cinema showing a wide variety of films, especially enjoy the old and foreign films they show. Generally the GFT attracts an audience that appreciates film but there have been a couple of times when our viewing experience has been ruined by a very small minority of drunken, rude and disrespectful patrons, be good if... Lovely Art Deco style art house cinema with an equally lovely cafe/ bar. Shows a range of films from current movies to older vintage films and cult classics. Lovely atmosphere and unusual building that has retained / restored a lot of its Art Deco details. Much more interesting than the modern multiplexes but screens are not as large. Often has... More

I’ve recently returned to this gem of a place having ignored it for several years in the misplacing belief that it was “arty farty” and wouldn’t interest me. Such prejudice was completely unfounded and during the past few months I have enjoyed illustrated talks, a foreign language comedy (priceless), a live performance from Stratford-upon-Avon’s Shakespeare Festival and pre-release Hollywood movies.... I love this place, even when there is a massive refurbishment going on. The staff are so friendly and know their films too. There are even volunteers who do a few shifts for the love of it. They do get in to see a few films I would guess. The new kid on the block GFT 3 is the smallest... More

We generally enjoy going here unfortunately like many couples we don't get out child free often so it had been a few years since we have been the the Glasgow Film Theatre, the last time we were here we enjoyed drinks in the bar before the film so naturally when we came in this time and headed to the bar... I returned to the Glasgow Film Theatre whilst staying in the city to watch another great film in a lovely setting. A great atmosphere.

Apart from hosting cult, and some off beat films, this venue hosts the recordings of BBC Radio comedy, and other productions. [ Ask at the box office for free tickets to certain productions. Also, visit the quaint in house café which serves delicious home made soups and snacks. You might even get to meet the odd famous actors who regularly... More
