Lovely Art Deco style art house cinema with an equally lovely cafe/ bar. Shows a range of films from current movies to older vintage films and cult classics. Lovely atmosphere and unusual building that has retained / restored a lot of its Art Deco details. Much more interesting than the modern multiplexes but screens are not as large. Often has... More

I’ve recently returned to this gem of a place having ignored it for several years in the misplacing belief that it was “arty farty” and wouldn’t interest me. Such prejudice was completely unfounded and during the past few months I have enjoyed illustrated talks, a foreign language comedy (priceless), a live performance from Stratford-upon-Avon’s Shakespeare Festival and pre-release Hollywood movies.... I love this place, even when there is a massive refurbishment going on. The staff are so friendly and know their films too. There are even volunteers who do a few shifts for the love of it. They do get in to see a few films I would guess. The new kid on the block GFT 3 is the smallest... More

We generally enjoy going here unfortunately like many couples we don't get out child free often so it had been a few years since we have been the the Glasgow Film Theatre, the last time we were here we enjoyed drinks in the bar before the film so naturally when we came in this time and headed to the bar... I returned to the Glasgow Film Theatre whilst staying in the city to watch another great film in a lovely setting. A great atmosphere.

Apart from hosting cult, and some off beat films, this venue hosts the recordings of BBC Radio comedy, and other productions. [ Ask at the box office for free tickets to certain productions. Also, visit the quaint in house café which serves delicious home made soups and snacks. You might even get to meet the odd famous actors who regularly... More

Visited with my wife to see Time out of Mind starring Richard Gere - brilliant! Booked our tickets on line in the morning then picked them up at the cinema in the afternoon, seamless and efficient. Staff all friendly and seating comfortable, a lovely afternoon out.

I went here for Frightfest and so spent two solid days in here. It has comfortable seats and a well maintained projection. The seats aren't very roomy but I doubt this is an issue of you're just popping in for one film. They have a great bar/cafe too and the staff are all very friendly.

We always enjoy visiting the GFT. We visit every year to attend FrightFest Glasgow and we always find the staff very friendly and accommodating. Great coffee, good comfortable seats. It always has a great buzz. Maybe the seats are a little too close to the seat in front of you in Cinema 1, but we only noticed this after 15... More
