An interesting way to get a feel of Glasgow's history. A very gothic experience which gave an insight into the City's past.

This cemetery is full of old tombstones and mausoleums. This is a piece of history and it's nice to wander thinking about time passing by. Does not compare to Dublin old cemetery though

Never been before, but always sort of sparked interest, just for the sheer fact that it's a massive graveyard on a hill! When I got there it was completely different, I was amazed at not only the size of the graveyard and the majority of the stones, but the history that that place holds is unreal, the feel of the... This is a great walk and look at all the large gravestones. Just be warned if you look in some of the larger toomstones you might see the occasional street sleepers snuggled up in the cornor. Great views over Glasgow well worth a visit

Take a walk from the Glasgow Cathedral to this small hill through a beautiful bridge. This is a cemetry with many tombstones. It is like movie scene, absolutely stunning! A MUST!

A surprising number of people like to mooch around graveyards and this one must be the grand-daddy of them all! There's a relatively steep climb up the zig-zaggy paths to the top where there are good views of the cathedral. There are many staggeringly large and impressive monuments to certain individuals who have gone before us. Many tell the life... More

This was amazing when I first saw it as a student 30 years ago & it still has its charme, its atmosphere and its remarkable history. It doesn't matter if it rains or the sun shines. It's an absolute must-see on any visit to Glasgow. So many lives, so many deaths. Such Gothic grandeur! However, while one would of course... More
