Great to be back at the football

I was fortunate enough to get to a Euro 2020 match at Hampden Park. I watched Sweden against Ukraine in a reduced-capacity crowd in one of the first matches with fans post-pandemic.

Entry was very well organised with pre-set times and lots of screening and spaced-out queuing. Inside - as pre-advised - there were no concession stands open but there was plenty of (free) water which was welcome on a sunny evening.

I thought that the authorities got the right balance of trying to fit in as many people as comfortable without it being so busy that people would be concerned about virus spreading. Exit was a bit less well-organised but that’s to be expected when everyone is leaving at the same time.

The ground was in the usual good condition and the stewards were approachable and friendly. Looking forward to going back once Covid restrictions are lifted and things get back to normal.

Disappointing
Dec 2019 • Friends
Bit disappointing . We attended the Lomand Suite for the recent cup final. The food was Luke warm and service slow. We had finished our meal before the last of our table were served. Alcohol was even slower to arrive too.
Entry to the hospitality area was shocking. One door held open by security while checking tickets. Ok in Spring but a wet Sunday in December

HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Dec 2019 • Friends
Spent many an afternoon watching cup final after cup final supporting Celtic. Hampden has become Celtic's home away from home especially lately with their run of 10 straight trophies ... 7 of which have been won at Hampden Park.

Me and my dad went on a Monday afternoon and done the stadium tour and the museum. What a great afternoon it was. The tour guide, Andy was fantastic!! A wealth of knowledge and very informative. Would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in Scottish Football.

Trip to Glasgow.

The hubby and I came to Hampden Park for a football match. Although it was for a Scottish 2nd division match we found it easy to get to on public transport and had no trouble with any of the people at the game.

Hibs v Celtic League Cup Semi Final 2nd Nov'19

For a national stadium it leaves a lot to be desired. Toilet and viewing facilities are not fit for 21st century. I have now watched football in all parts of this stadium and unless you are in some form of hospitality seating the viewing experience is woeful. Toilets outside the stadia and in the terraces are a throwback to the sixties Hampden experience.

Tour and match
Nov 2019 • Friends
De tour was okay. Lots of general stories, coloured with some (recordholding) numbers. Matchday was amazing. Great atmosphere.
Tip for the police: block all main roads after the match and let the leaving cars / busses go first to restore the peace again.

Poor or almost all accounts
Nov 2019 • Family
Not really sure were to start on how poor this stadium is.

There was one portaloo within the stadium footprint.. For 38k people.
As a football experience it is terrible; you are so far from the pitch it is extremely difficult to see the players on the pitch, despite fans singing the atmosphere seems to disappear out of the stadium.

Getting to and from the stadium is a nightmare. There are 2 train stations that have a average service. The bus routes again are average at best.

But by far and away the biggest issue with the stadium is how incapable the roads around the stadium are when dealing with vehicles exiting the stadium.

We were parked in the official stadium car park. Our journey should take between 25 to 30 minutes to get home.... It took 2 hours.... After 1 hour we had travelled roughly half a mile. The roads were backed up, going nowhere.

An absolute joke of a stadium that is incapable of dealing with the stress of a capacity crowd.

They were GOING Wherever They Wanted!
Jun 2019
This was during the time of the P!NK concert, The Concert had just finished and everyone was filing to the bathrooms, there was no organisation and it was overly crowded. Me and my mother were in the line for the bathroom which was constantly skipped by extremely intoxicated ladies, several people were just stood chatting away and taking up space for others to get in and so several people ended up squatting in the hall in front of everyone. Not a great end to an amazing night, people doing their business in front of you, some stepping in it on their way past. Not to mention there was several people who were intoxicated to the point of vomiting on passersby. The scramble for the exit made everything worse, there was no clear exits, no one was helping out. It would be suggested if something like this happens again that parking is properly provided and the staff be more interactive to help people. It is also the suggested that in future have a different drink system. All In all Brilliant concert but terrible service and venue organisation.

SAN Marino
Oct 2019
Saw the night San Marino play Scotland here as I was in Glasgow for the weekend.
Stadium is a short train trip from Glasgow central but mount Florida isn’t the biggest station and struggles to cope with the quantity of fans.
Stadium is a short walk, inside it’s decent, the front seats can get wet if it’s raining,
Inside the food and drink is ok but not spoilt for to much choice, toilets are decent.
Views are good but some seats can be fairly far away.
Sound was decent in the venue and staff were helpful.
