Unusual shells...usually a crab or two. Don't forget to visit the SeaShell cafe for a cafe latte..

we love this beach, even in the winter it can be amazing. Our kids age 6 love it, so does our dog and it is just amazing for a family day out - if you get the sun - wow - fantastic!

West Sands has its claim to fame as the location for the beginning of the film "Chariots of Fire". They are working hard to conserve the sand dunes there. Beyond that it is a very large beach and is used by people using "para buggies"...More

Perfect for a Sunday morning walk to blow the cobwebs away, and we stopped at the little cafe for a coffee and breakfast roll.

We walked for miles - the further you walk, the quieter it gets... Great just to unwind and forget all your work hassles etc for a wee while at least... SetJetter footnote: this is where they filmed 'Chariots of Fire' apparently.

You cannot visit St Andrews without visiting The West Sands, this has to be one of the top ten beaches in the world. Beautiful white sands, unspoiled, lovely to have a walk along never over busy as it so vast.
