A lovely area of sand as seen in the film Chariots of Fire. My grandchildren had two lovely days there and even ventured into the water! Over the years I have driven as far as the Eden Estuary and enjoyed the wildlife. I was disappointed...More

A must to visit and ideally with the tide someway out. They keep it beautifully clean and well maintained. It is quite level and safe for bathing when it is warm enough

I have never been to St Andrews before but was pleasantly surprised to see how lovely the beach was. We spent two days in this lovely town and each day walked along the beach. It was actually sunny. I know!! Scotland October and sunny.

To be fair it’s just a long beach of which there are hundreds around the UK coast. This one happens to be next to the home of the history of golf and the iconic running scene from the film ‘Chariots of Fire’

Fab beach right next to the most famous golf course in the world! Really close to the town and plenty of parking available. Great for watersports and a mecca for dog walkers.

I'm not much of a runner, but who can forget the scene from Chariot's of Fire shot on the beach, so with the score humming in my head, I did take a few quicker than normal steps!!

One of the best beaches for water sports, dog walking, land yachting, etc. There is a part time life guard on duty through the high season, swim between the flags for safety, there is ample free parking behind the dunes and a cafe for food...More

We have seen our share of beaches and found this one to be quite lovely for several reasons... It’s clean! Now there is always natural debris (shells, seaweed etc.), but that’s it. The sand is very soft and powdery. This beach goes forever and is...More

Yes, there is a stretch of rock that is exposed during low tide quite close to the beach wall, which forms rock pools accessible for exploring. Obviously ensure you are aware of high and low tide times, and identify your... More

People do, but stay away from the dunes, because if they catch fire, the damage is long-lasting and very destructive.
