Eden Mill
About
NEW DISTILLERY CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION. UNFORTUNATELY WE'RE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO ACCEPT VISITORS. Just outside St Andrews, Eden Mill is Scotland's original single-site brewery & distillery. Since 2012 we've been brewing and distilling here, creating a unique and diverse range of beer, gin and whisky.

We travelled to Eden Mill hoping to buy some gin or whisky. The internet suggested that the distillery was open but we could not confirm that over the phone as no one answered. When we arrived in Guardbridge all we could find was a building site with no signs as to how to get in to the distillery or the shop. We did a bit of research which suggested that there was a temporary outlet in St Andrews but we couldn't find it. We had intended to spend a bit of money there but obviously couldn't. We had visited before and enjoyed a tasting visit in the past, we are fans of Eden Mill gin and whisky but today was a real disappointment. The company needs to be better organized and put out more information while they have these issues.

Along with many others I have paid up front for goods that have not been delivered. There is no customer service so they do not respond to emails or phone calls. My advice is to steer clear of the place. There are many more poor reviews. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ON LINE FROM THEM.

Visited on 8th of August with a friend who lives in Cyprus. We had our experience in a pop up shed due to building works being carried out in the main building but it didn’t take away from our gin experience. Working in the hospitality industry and being a gin drinker, I found the experience very informative and Fern our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Being a gin drinker she was obviously passionate about her subject.
The group we were in were mixed ages but we seemed to gel and relax and enjoy the day.
We visited the shop and bought 2 bottles of gin. My friend buying one for my up and coming 60th birthday (Love) and I bought the Golf to take as a gift to my brother in Australia who is a golfer.
You never know Fern I may help Eden Mill branch out there!

placed an order with eden mill on 7th dec, phoned them up to cancel it on the 12th,lady on the phone said the guy who does the cancellations isn`t in until wednesday,2 days away, but she will make sure he gets it,didn`t hold much hope, but gave her the benefit of the doubt, never received an email to verify the cancellation, today i get an email to say my item has been posted by dhl, tried to phone them 4 times and all i got was an answering machine, left a message for them to phone me back,so far no one has,not happy with this service at all,the items were supposed to be for a friends birthday on the 16th dec, received a message saying"Hi Bill, we're very sorry about the service you have received. Our admin team is very busy at the moment answering calls and also helping fulfill orders - although this is not and excuse and we send our sincere apologies. We like to think of all our customers and give them the best possible experience when shopping with Eden Mill and being small and crafted means we get to put every bit of detail into our products. This year demand has been extremely high for our products and we even employed extra staff to help us keep up with this. If you can DM us your order number, then I will look into this immediately and ensure your refund is processed. Thanks, Team Eden.item was delivered by dhl on the 21st dec,now i am stuck with an item that is no use to me,£44 down the drain,
only cancelled it from the bad reviews on facebook, wont be buying anything else from here, and wouldn`t recommend anyone else does neither

We stopped by Edin Mill as our last stop of the day looking for a Whisky tasting and got SO much more. We were enthusiastically greeted by the staff and introduced to their product. Steven was the name of the gentleman helping us and he was awesome! We decided to do their Gin tasting and had a blast doing so. Steven was extremely knowledgeable and charming. His lively personality personally made this one of our favorite stops of the day. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area and if Steven is there you are in for a treat!

Brilliant value for money and a must to visit when near the St Andrews area. We had a knowledgeable and humorous tour guide and provided with a delicious gin cocktail on arrival. Tour was interesting and informative and the gin tasting at the end was brilliant was great quality products. They have definitely not scrimped on this and it is extremely worthwhile, especially the reasonably priced gift shop at the end of the tour! Will definitely recommend and hope to return!

A great tour that starts with a choice of 4 very different gin cocktails. Our engaging and very knowledgeable guide Euan then gave a great presentation covering the history of the distillery and the production process before guiding us through the distillery. We were amazed that so much is done by hand with people being the greatest asset. The opportunity to taste 3 very different gins with well chosen condiments (including red & green chilli) and assorted mixers finished things off nicely. The cocktails were so good that we simply had to take a box home. Highly recommended for anyone who likes gin and wants to extend their palate.

We originally ventured off from our B and B in St Andrews to the production facility in Guardsbridge. However, unbeknownst to us, tours are fully booked in the summer for a month or two in advance. We therefore settled in for a couple of drinks and were offered a tasting at the Rusacks Hotel (back in St Andrews). We went for it and were not disappointed. To the contrary, James, our "spiritual" guide gave a great tour through no less than 5 of the products. Frankly, I enjoy a little booze when learning, so this was a complete win-win. Great gin product for sale in a terrific atmosphere adjacent to the Old Course.

Myself and my partner booked in for the Beer Tour and it was great. You get a half pint on arrival to enjoy during the introduction. Our guide, John, was really good - very knowledgeable and funny. He gave us a potted history of this young brewery/distillery company, and the old Haig brewery and printworks which they are based in. He took us through the ingredients and the processes, and then walked us around to see the facilities. It's a fairly small scale operation and the actual tour doesn't take a huge length of time, but its genuinely interesting to see how they operate and hear about the ways in which they prep, can, bottle and cap the beer. It sounds like a small group of folk who all pitch in to make a great product, and who are trying new and interesting things to make their way in what's no doubt a really competitive market. After the walkabout, its back for a tasting of six different beers - which include some very different and unusual ones. John talked us through their particular qualities and then let us enjoy them at our leisure. The shop has a range of the beers and some very nice collection packs of gin, perfect for gifts. I'd definitely recommend coming and checking it out, and I'd love to come back again when they have their first whisky available for sale (first batch due November 2017) to try that out. Getting to and from the place is really easy by bus - number 99, £2.70 each way from St Andrews Bus Station. Excellent place, really nice people and a lovely afternoon. Definitely one to try.

We met some of the Eden Mill folks at a market in Perth and decided that we wanted to take a closer look and visit the Brewery in St Andrews. We went with the Gin Tour in mind but ended up taking a Beer one instead- Our guide Euane was a fantastic host and gave a fantastic tour and proved a knowledgeable guide, passionate about what they were doing. I loved seeing the practical side of a Craft Brewery, the machinery used to make the beers and the stills to make the new make and the gin- To tell you the truth it just made me more impressed at the variety of products that they make. The visitor reception is fab- very funky pop up style made from pallets and barrels- I recommend this as a first class stop for anyone visiting St Andrews and in any way interested in brewing or distilling.
