I go to St Andrews every year and always have one trip to the Botanic garden. This year there was a fabulous butterfly exhibition, but I don't think this is a permanent feature. There are beautiful gardens to stroll around, with different themes and landscapes within. Several greenhouses with exotic plants, a nice little gift shop and tea room. Maybe... More

Took my daughter who is 6 and she loved it. Beautiful grounds as you would expect and the butterfly farm is great. I think they should maybe sort their butterfly time system out however as u were only allowed one time to go in I'm led to believe this is the only time u were allowed in. They could also... More

Just had to write a few words to express how much we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Botanic Gardens and especially seeing the beautiful butterflies. I'd searched the Botanic Gardens on Trip Advisor as one of the places to visit but we almost missed out due to taking an alternative route. Glad I saw the brown tourist sign as... More

Attending a tribute night in mid July. Lovely evening, excellent setting and very well 'managed' by the Uni. Looking forward to next years programme, want to attend more events!

I'm sad to say I didn't get there this trip, but this is one of my favorite stops when I'm in St. Andrews.

Despite my husband being dubious as to how interesting this place would be a workmate had visited recently and had spoken about the butterfly house. We ended up spending the whole afternoon there from apprixomately 1pm-5pm. I knew my son would love the butterfly house in particular as he loves insects and other animals. We were not disappointed. Despite you... More

Spur of the moment visit, nearly turned away when we saw the price of entry but decided to go in anyway. The butterfly section is nice, if you're intending to see them wear very thin clothing as the humidity is intense, you will come out of there sweating! The gardens were nice, I especially enjoyed the herb garden & the... More

Just spent the day here with two 4 year olds and two 1 year olds. We arrived mid morning and had coffee and cake in the new coffee shop. Nothing gluten free sadly. Went along to glass class arts and crafts activities and did some colouring while we waited for the butterfly experience which was in a given time slot.... More

The gardens were quite pretty but not very large. I have probably been spoilt by my previous visits to Edinburgh Botanics which are free, larger and dare I say it more interesting. Cost nearly £30 for two concessions(pensioners) one adult and two children. Concessions are only 50p cheaper. This included access to the butterfly area. Butterflies were nice and pretty... More
