A golfing Mecca for the most accomplished golfer to the enthusiastic...

A golfing Mecca for the most accomplished golfer to the enthusiastic amateur, a trip to St Andrews Links is one which realises the ultimate dream for golfers worldwide. From the iconic Swilcan Bridge on the Old Course to Tom Morris’s masterful architecture on the New Course, St Andrews Links has developed over 600 years to become one of the most famous locations in golf. Perhaps most fascinating however, is the fact that all seven courses at St Andrews Links are public and open to everyone. St Andrews Links is the largest public golfing complex in Europe. From the terrifying sight of Hell Bunker on the Old Course to the gentle slopes of the Balgove, the Home of Golf has become the ultimate golfing destination for all ages and abilities. The three championship courses; the Old Course, New Course and Jubilee Course run parallel to each other along the famous St Andrews Links West Sands of St Andrews. Nestled on the opposite side of the Links are the Eden, Strathtyrum and the only nine hole course, the Balgove. A five minute drive from town is the seventh course, the award winning Castle Course which offers dramatic views over St Andrews from its spectacular cliff top location. Away from the course, explore the fantastic facilities St Andrews Links has to offer. Learn the game where it was first played at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy. The Academy offers first-class tuition from PGA-Qualified St Andrews Links professionals and is home the only Callaway Performance Centre (custom-fit) in Scotland. The driving range has over 60 bays, including 22 indoors, and a landing zone which is over 400 yards long. All mats are air cushioned, and five bays include the Power Tee automated system. There is short game area, which includes a replica of Road Bunker, and a putting green, once the second on the Eden Course and regarded as one of the finest in St Andrews. Shop our fantastic range of official merchandise from our five retail stores, the Old Course Shop, the 18th Green Shop, the Links Clubhouse Shop, the Castle Course shop and the oldest golf shop in the world – Tom Morris. Finally relax in the Swilcan Restaurant in the Links Clubhouse, The Eden Clubhouse or the Castle Course Clubhouse with a wee dram as you reflect on your visit to the Home of Golf.

Playing the links at St Andrews was a dream come true. Windy weather and very little rain made for some testing rounds! I enjoyed myself immensely and having that feeling of who has played here over history gave it that extra special feeling. I carried and used a ball marker from a dear friends wife who loved golf and played... More

What can be documented that hasn't already been said...!! Therefore tried to note some points away from what is simply a stunning golf course. 1) Make sure you have your handicap certificate with you, because they definitely check for these. 2) If playing in winter months, don't worry about bringing your open mat for the fairways - these are supplied.... We are huge golf fans and loved getting to see this iconic place. We didn't get to play the Old Course because there was a tournament that week but we did play the Jubilee Course and it was great. One thing that was great is that our son doesn't have a handicap for golf but you don't need one for... More

My husband likes to golf but he's not super serious about it. I don't golf at all. But we both wanted to see St. Andrews Links. The Old Course was really need to walk. The scenery is just spectacular. We were amazed at how laid back the place actually was. It didn't seem overly pretentious. We wanted to golf the... More

12 of us were on a 3 day golfing trip. Weather turned out to be perfect for the trip. I took a caddy, £50 plus tip per day. Well worth the money as I won the competition. Everyone associated with the course were both professional and very friendly. There are restrictions at this time of the year around trolleys and... More

It really does make you want to live on the east coast when, on a fair weather day, you can enjoy the Links and the connected beaches... We were lucky to have such a day... The family all loved the beauty, the relaxation, and the feeling of a home away from home.. Golfers, dog walkers, runners, walkers, and general moochers... More

Like a kid waiting to open presents on xmas day, I was up early to get the 5.30am train out of Edinburgh, to get me to the Old Course for my 8.20am tee time. The train and bus connection was easy and convenient (as was the return trip), so for anyone worried about public transport, don't be. Trains also run... More

This golf is absolutely amazing, the scenery, the beach stretching for miles, the sea breeze, the lovely atmosphere, honestly, I don't play golf yet, but I wish I would as this is quite a place!
