Neighborhood: New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.

Got to try haggis - a definite must while in Scotland! Not the greatest of food quality. For the price, thought it should have been better. Show was ok - seen better. An average night for a high price.

This is a Scottish evening featuring singers, dancers and the Ceremony of the Haggis. I don't think I would have tasted it had I known what it was but they made such a big deal about it when they presented it, that I did. The music and dancing was fun. The bagpipes are a kick and the lead piper is a hoot especially when he gets you to join in on the song. Be sure to get a sip of scotch for the toast. We hadn't had a chance to taste any until this point so we were glad we did. The layout is in the form of extremely long, long tables with people packed in. The waiters have to do their job of clearing the food during the show but are a little bit distracting. They put a lot of people into these shows. We were lucky to have a table at the back for two so we could stand to see and zoom in while taking photos. The food was really descious.

We were three 20-year-old French students and we loved it so much. The show was funny and the artists were so welcoming. Food was good and we discovered Scottish traditional meals. I will definitely recommend this place and I will go back anytime I'm in Scotland !

When visiting Edinburgh be sure to take in the Scottish evening.

It's a dinner show that includes a meal it's OK but the entertainment is really quite good.

You'll hear bagpipes wonderful singing and Scottish dances to thrill you. It's a great variety show plus they have a full bar if you're interested in Scottish whiskey. Enjoy!

This was part of our tour and a great experience. Banquet style dinner lots of fun. Food was average But song and dance was excellent. The only better entertainment in Edinburgh would be the Military Tattoo.

Wonderful Cultural experience!

I have hardly been so embarrassed. Taking a group of educated American clients to something which is fit for school children. Yes it is supposed to be funny and silly but this is beyond any of these descriptions. The food was good thank goodness but the show is something else.. awful

Additionally I was told the show starts at 6.45pm and ends at 9.30pm. We were outside the door before 9pm. A total rip off to say the least

Very sorry you did not enjoy the show!! We all have a different sense of humour I suppose. You should have received the confirmation of the time on your voucher so apologises if you understood differently. The evening includes a 4 course dinner and entertainment so I do not think it is overpriced. I also understand we gave you a free dram of whisky on the night when you advised our staff you were not enjoying the show. Once again sorry to hear you did not appreciate the humour.

From the welcome of our bus to granny's final song, this was a blast. The food was tasty but it was the show that made the night. I would definitely go again.

We had a fantastic night at the Fantoosh show at the Royal Scots Club. The food was excellent, the actors all great and the show was hilarious; a lovely way to spend a memorable evening in Edinburgh and soak up a bit of Scottish culture! There was some great live music and even a live piper to pipe in the haggis!

What more could you wish for than to be greated by the Laird himself and piped into an evening of excellent entertainment and good food. The Laird himself is able to converse in Scottish, English and French! This helped enormously when (literally) getting to grips with the lively wee creature more commonly known as the Haggis!
This is no run of the mill tourist attraction but a lively, entertaining and inter-active evening performed by experienced actors who bring the stories and customs of Scotland to life. Music, fun, food and laughter!
