The area
Address
Neighborhood: West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.

Stag Do Afternoon Tasting Session
Nov 2015 • Friends
Arrived after lunch to Innis & Gunn, warmly welcomed by two hosts, enjoyed a drink before going through to another room to sample 4 different beers and hear the Innis & Gunn story. I would strongly recommend this trip to anyone. Claire and the other host (sorry I've forgotten the name!) were brill, good stories, very knowledgeable, and their enthusiasm really made the event. Our group of twenty all had a great afternoon. And the beer is good too! Thanks Innis & Gunn!

Grangemouth Real Ale & Whisk Society visit Innis & Gunn
Oct 2015 • Friends
Firstly 6 Randolph Crescent is easy to get to from Haymarket or Waverley Railway Stations. On arrival we were welcomed by Claire who made us feel most welcome by offering us some of Innis & Gunn's finest. We were not disappointed. After a couple of beers we ventured through to another room which was set out with the beers we were to sample. Claire was exceptional in sharing her knowledge (and in the way she put up with 12 buzzed up men excited about how the Rugby was going against Samoa in Newcastle). All in all we had a great afternoon and will hopefully return another day to have lunch or dinner on the premises. Claire, thank you from all the lads in GRAWS.

Great Beer and Cheese..!
Sep 2015 • Couples
I booked the Innis & Gunn beer and cheese event as a surprise for my ale loving partner, I was worried that there was only 2 in our party and I don’t particularly like beer…. But I had nothing to worry about, we had the best evening..! We were welcomed by Claire who was a fabulous host, very knowledgeable about her product and so friendly and chatty, there were drinks in the drawing room to start while everyone else arrived (1 drink included in the ticket, anything else was additional) then we moved into another room for the event. We were sat with a great bunch of people where we tasted the most delicious cheese and drank different beers, Claire and Liz from IJ Mellis talked us through each pairing accompanied by lots of chatting and laughter from us all. Afterwards we weren’t rushed out and enjoyed another drink in the beautiful drawing room. I would thoroughly recommend these evenings, something different, but lots of fun…

Great tasting seasion
Sep 2015 • Couples
I was in town with my girlfriend and wanted to try some local beer. I've had I&G back in the states a few times and really enjoyed it, so I looked up on their website for a tour or tasting we could do while in Edinburgh. Luckily we were able to get tickets to a sample session and we were both very impressed. The host was very informative and the beer was so good, we had to take some back with us. Overall a great tasting session and a great experience. Now hopefully they start distributing some more varieties back home.

Beer and cheese evening
Jun 2015 • Business
Fantastic evening sampling and learning about the beer - and how they complement the various cheeses (also delicious!). Claire the host was brilliant and the dining room and setting couldn't be better. Highly recommended for groups, either corporate or social. Thanks for the great night.

Innis & Gunn Beer Tasting
Apr 2015 • Friends
Thoroughly enjoyed the beer tasting afternoon I had with a friend at Innis & Gunn at No 6. Claire was extremely knowledgeable and a great host - the beer was also excellent!! Really glad to have been and hope to go to more, maybe one of the tastings paired with cheese or chocolate, or both :)

Thanks again!

Fabulous evening in amazing surroundings

We were a small group of friends from work who had organised a private Beer and Cheese tasting last Friday night. It had been a while in coming as our but was well worth waiting for!

On arrival we were warmly greeted by Claire the Hospitality Manager and were each given a beer to enjoy before the tasting. I had the new White Oak Wheat Beer and it was delicious and highly recommended.

As for the tasting a generous amount of 4 different cheeses were paired with 4 different beers. Claire expertly guided us through each pairing giving us some interesting tidbits of information about Innis & Gunn, the beers and, of course the cheese!

We were a very enthusiastic and talkative crowd to say the least and Claire handled it all with good humour and professionalism.

After the tasting we retired to the bar to sample some more of the delicious beers. A perfect opportunity to try some their special editions and beers that are not readily available. These were not included and payable in cash but this was a nice touch and was a great end to the event.

Everyone in our group had a lot of fun and agreed it had been a fantastic night.

If you are a beer fan and either live in the Edinburgh area or are planning a trip then don't hesitate to book an event at No 6. You won't regret it!

We are planning a return trip for another tasting soon. Probably the chocolate pairing but I could be persuaded again by the fantastic cheese :-)

Just GO! Innis& Gunn is the BEST brewery, go treat yourself at No 6!
Jun 2014 • Friends
What a wonderful experience we had at No 6 with Innis & Gunn. Wow!

This is my all-time favorite brewery and they do not sell it just anywhere in the States. When I found out I would be visiting Scotland, we HAD to stop by.

The Innis & Gunn crew was incredible. They even opened up on a special day to accommodate me and my team. They were prepared, hospitable and VERY knowledgeable about their beer.

We had the opportunity to try many new flavors that are not and will not be offer in the U.S., and that was a treat! I found my favorite beer while we were there: Bourbon Stout. They treated us to cheeses that paired nicely with our beers and allowed us to ask/taste/test anything we wanted. Very impressed.

All-in-all this was one of my favorite stops. If you are in Scotland…GO TO NO 6 AND GET SOME INNIS & GUNN!!!
