Dreadful!
Sep 2021
the food court in here is absolutely dire! We hadn't been for a while and were so disappointed when we tried to get some lunch. The place looks grubby, the food choice awful and the staff seemed to have very little interest in any Covid precautions! Unless this shopping centre is improved I can see a total decline with many more closures!

Cleaning staff don't wear masks - avoid!
Oct 2021 • Family
Good range of shops but the food court is absolutely dire. Our family decided not to eat here as largely deserted with only two outlets open - depressing atmosphere with tinny music echoing around a bleak hall. While customers all wore masks a male member of staff in a bright orange top was wandering around with no mask on and only giving tables a very cursory clean. Clearly very little interest in public safety - worth avoiding!

A shopping centre with poor eating facilities.

Shops are pretty good - the usual High Street lot. The food court is however a disgrace! Ther3 was only ‘ChopStick’ and the ‘Kitchen’- we only wanted a sandwich or similar. I ordered a cheese and ham toastie and my partner had the lentil soup. The ‘toastie’ was hardly toasted and plain white bread which was soggy and basically inedible. The soup was lentil purée with a slice of white sliced bread cut in half and stuck together with margarine. I was reminded of a ‘greasy spoon’ fro. The 70s. Not cheap and certainly not cheerful! The place was pretty dirty as well. The centre would do well to bring in a few more decent places to eat.

Poor choice

I have to start of with saying that I understand we are still in the middle of a pandemic but I mean come on! A shopping centre that has just suppose to have had a refurb done a few years ago the food court is shocking! Burger King gone! Pizza hut gone! Your left with the choice of a fast food Chinese or a sandwich shop! Not go mention the beguette express stand down on the shop floor! Poor show guys! All the other big shopping centres in Edinburgh and West Lothian are on the rise and really booming with choice! The gyle seems to be going backwards!

Hassle by charity collectors

shopping centre
Charity bucket shakers allowed to set up permanent stalls and aggressively shout “ Kids with cancer” right in your face. Hate shopping here now. Avoid

Good as Gyle!
Jul 2020
The shopping centre is quite small but has got the shops and eating places you would want there such as cafe's and clothes shops.

The shop is also good for social distancing (we went during covid-19).

The parking is quite big so don't worry about finding a parking space.

The shopping centre is overall small but has the shops you would want and is great to go for a couple of hours.

To be honest I wasn't really impressed with this shopping centre. Only a small selection of shops, won't be rushing back to it anytime soon.

Eating at Gyle
Jan 2020 • Friends
Had lunch with a friend at the Kitchen one of the eateries at the Gyle. The food court is usually busy and noisy their is a fair variety on offer usual fast food outlets and some more niche. The Kitchen does a variety of things the baked potato was excellent. However everything is served in plastic containers which I assume could be recycled but given they all end up in the same bin with food scraps I doubt they are perhaps time the Gyle looked at that
