Didn't know what to expect but we had a brilliant time. Would highly recommend. Made it with only two minutes to spare.

Hi, glad to hear you had a good time. If you had not some an escape game before I can imagine it was a bit mysterious but hopefully it is something you will want to do again in the future. More

I've done multiple room escapes before, and this is definitely up there with the best. The guy who was watching us was great, and gave helpful hints when it was clear we were stuck. The story was really interesting (we did "The Dark side of Edinburgh.") Had great fun working out all the puzzles that were involved, will probably come... More

My boyfriend and I went to the room located at Dalry road. The background story wasn't too clear, the girl who worked there just explained in general how the game works in general (unnecessary in our case because we have been to several rooms already) and some specific instructions for this one. The riddles and problems we had to solve... More

Hi Limor, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry to hear that you had a less than positive experience in one Area 51 room. It is very difficult to ensure that every game is suitable for all players, novice to experienced, and we do try to include a variety of clues. Without posting spoilers here... More

We have visited Escape Room as part our our Team Day at work. The game was pretty awesome, and I had so much fun solving all the puzzles, finding hidden clues and keys. Ideal attraction for those who want to feel for a while like real detective. Was cool, and I'd like more!

Spent one of the most interesting hours of my life in Escape Edinburgh. Absolutely excellent team building exercise which will leave you mentally exhausted at the end of it. Three couples in our mid 50's spent an hour locked in a room frantically trying to solve clues to obtain our escape. We all agreed it was probably one of the... More

Six people locked in a room together for an hour, everyone really enjoyed the challenge and had some input into solving the clues for us to get out. A brilliant way to spend time with friends and something to talk about for hours afterwards. Can't recommend it enough.

Hi Melanie, thanks for coming along and for leaving this review. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the game and discussing it later on. Escape games do seem to be good for conversation, perhaps because some puzzles are solved by others and you need to piece together what actually happened! Hopefully we will see you again soon. More

Hi Dawn, glad that you and your group enjoyed your game. With the game bing more of a mental than a physical challenge age should not be a barrier although it doesn't sound like you are very old anyway! Hopefully we will see you back to complete another game in the future. More

We played two games here and the staff were lovely and friendly. We play a lot of escape games. We played in the Haymarket venue which was very easily accessible on the bus. We had a poor game in Area 51, we just had an off hour but this was down to us, tired and a little cranky. We then... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
