The area
Address
Neighborhood: Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.

Me and my partner had a great time! You get a lot for your money with a really tasty G&T to start, then trying a lot of their other delicious gin after seeing the distillery. Located in Summerhall where you can then enjoy a drink at the pub on site or do some more activities after. Highly recommend!

Great tour packed with information and fun anecdotes (and yummy gin)

Just did today the Gin Jolly Distillery tour with Marina and absolutely loved every second. Whilst Pickerings Gin Distillery is not big, they do sure make up for it with a great product and lovely storytelling. It was a lovely way to get to know more about this lovely local brand, and to taste some of their gins (my favourite was the one with Scottish Botanicals).
I'd definitely do this again.

Brilliant tour - just the right amount of info without overload. Marina was our guide and made it fun and interesting. She has loads of enthusiasm.
My tip would be to arrive in plenty of time to sit and enjoy your Gin as you'll need to finish it before you go into the distillery.
Definitely worth the trip. Also bought some Gin whilst in their shop.
Thanks for a great tour.
