About
Craigmillar Park is 3 miles south of the centre of Edinburgh, next to the beautiful Blackford Hill, with panoramic views over the city. Although close to the city centre, it is in the Green Belt and away from traffic noise. The course is kept in excellent condition by our team of professional hard-working green staff. We have an active membership with a friendly clubhouse atmosphere. Craigmillar Park is host to the first Scottish Amateur 72 hole event of the season. Scotland’s leading amateurs and many players from south of the border descend on the course in April each year to take part in this event previously won by 6 times major winner Sir Nick Faldo.

Surprise 60th
Sep 2021 • Family
After no luck finding a function room for a surprise 60th came across this little Gem of a place, staff were amazing, views stunning, nothing was a bother for staff, food was great and were able to cater for vegan and vegetarians in family, hall was great size for our party of 70 people, setting up tables and hall for the surprise was perfect as staff allowed us in early with plenty time to carry out set up, the two bar staff on shift on night of 24th September were friendly and worked extremely hard dealing with us all🤩 would highly recommend having any function in craigmillar park golf club

Excellent after funeral function
Sep 2021
Held my father’s funeral tea in the clubhouse recently. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and considerate and the spread laid on was excellent. Lovely open views and spacious room couldn’t have asked for more. A perfect send off and much appreciated. Highly recommend.

Great service, great food
Sep 2021 • Friends
We had called last minute for a reservation for 12 people, spoke to the manager on the phone who said that walk-ins were more than welcome. We had arrived 10 minutes after we had called. We had a table already set up with us, the girl who served us was very polite and very understanding of most of us being fussy eaters. The food was incredible and the service was great, fantastic atmosphere. What I liked most, we had made a joke about who was paying and we didn’t wanna be an inconvenience by all paying separately and she had mentioned that her and her friends usually all take out there bank cards, shuffle them and the server picks a card. I thought this was a really fun idea, and we had a good laugh. Definitely will be back. 10/10

Great green space in the city
Jul 2020 • Solo
Great for public walks during the lock down period and easily accessible. Seems busy again after reopening with lots of loyal customers returning. Car park gets full easily but the main road has free parking too.

Nice course / club 2 mile south of Edinburgh city centre. Course in v good condition. Helpful staff. Somewhat hilly (esp 7th though 9th)but view from 10th tee makes the climb worthwhile.

Golf fine but forget the food
Oct 2016 • Friends
Being used to starting my morning golf with the traditional bacon roll and coffee, it was something of a shock to find that at 1030 am, the club house was locked and no food or coffee was available.

The course was suffering from a surfeit of leaves and the near rough was overly long and in my humble opinion poorly profiled. Finding ones ball was a challenge but pink showed up best!!

Upon returning to the club house after our round, we were told that the kitchen had run out of half of the items on the "mains" section of their menu since the club house is open to the public and non golfers and there had been a big party in for lunch earlier. The pasta of the day - lasagna - was dry, rubberized and pretty grim. The chips, however, were definitely above average.

But it is a pretty course with some great holes and splendid views over the city.

Memorable Round, great Views!
Aug 2015 • Friends
Geez! - One of the toughest layouts running up and down Observatory's hill - "luckily" I'm footsore and used a buggy! Reception was friendly, tee-off performed perfectly by itself. No stroke saver available, therefore the first hole was difficult. Newcomers, mind the wall at the right on your second shot!
Soon the City views are replaced by hinterland views - much appreciated. Quite a few special holes - remember the 5th, blind with a steep drop. Signature 10th greets with spectactular views and a chance to drive the green @354 yds - two of us did it!
Another blind situation at the 12th - go for the right green ;)
It may be a fatiguing walk but rewarding, both in views and uncommon golfing situations!

Great golf in middle of Edinburgh
Nov 2014
Course was in great condition, even though it was middle of November. There was no standing water anywhere and greens were fairly fast.Great service in bar, too. We arrived early and kitchen was closed but the chef managed to rustle up some coffee and bacon rolls which were much appreciated. Some great views out on course and some interesting holes. Our favourite was the 15th.Stunning wee par 3.Only slight negatives were the tiny car park and the par 3 7th? which had a blind tee shot and a marker stick!Never, ever seen a par 3 with a marker stick before.Overall though, its a cracking course and I highly recommend it.
