Service and quatity of food for price paid was well below par. Burgers ( which were quite small ) were not even accompanied by a side of chips. They were extra, they also came out cold and prior to the burgers. Would only recommend the courtyard area for its lively atmosphere.

We wanted to sit outside by the big screen but it was completely full. We found a spot inside close to a TV which was great for us. They had a good selection of beer, but not so much for non beer drinkers. The white wine was not very good, but we still had a great time!

Did an excellent job for the Guinness Pro 12 final, great bar and would recommend to anyone. Didn't have to wait long to be served, plenty different bars to be served at. Also went for breakfast on the Sunday and was also good, they where also setting up a food market stalls out side with some street food.

Busy place, mediocre music but good fun, late opening and easy going. All in all a good place to end the night.

It was awful as there is no air condition, over 100 people...also buffets was rubbish and the DPF paid 5 pounds ahead each and I cannot believe buffets was awful and the manager was not in and three members organised it was not happy as there were same night Irish rugby and drinks were far expensive....Also staff were very rude.... Our party of two middle-aged couples happened by on an early Saturday night to down a couple pints while watching the madness--multiple stag and hen parties, costumes galore, a rollicking musical trio and Premier League on a big screen. Lots of dancing on tables and spilt beer...oh, to be a couple decades younger!

We went into the three cows for the pub quiz which is on a Tuesday, it's a reasonable priced pub with a lot of students in with a lively atmosphere. The pub itself is a nice pub with a good atmosphere friendly staff but I think it's mainly aimed at students.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
