The Athletic Arms, known locally as the Diggers is situated between two graveyards and used to be frequented by the local gravediggers who would quench their thirst here after a long day burying the dead.It is a very traditional pub that focusses on great dinks, great service and a clean safe environment. There is always 6 real ales usually sourced from Scottish micro breweries and has over 230 single malts.

This felt like a proper pub. Dogs are welcome so got to stroke a couple of dogs there too. Different beers and other drinks at a reasonable price. Loved the friendly atmosphere, the locals just started talking to us as well.

Nice pub, friendly people. I was there because my husband was playing there and the audience was really nice. Choice of good beers and good pies. Nice place to go if you're in the neighbourhood.
