Bill', the face of edinburghtourguide, absolutely wonderful story telling is a recommendation on its own. Bill met us in front of the Caledonian in a massive downpour and merrily rescheduled for the afternoon! He brought us to all the main sites of the old town, even though most tourist attractions are closed due to the COVID situation. Treated us to stories and drinks in the Guildford Arms Pub and gave us a wonderful afternoon. A true delight and would recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh!

Along with two other couples, we had the most remarkable 8-day tour with Edinburgh Tour Guide. Not only did our trip exceed our expectations, but in every instance, we believe that our guides (Cammy and Bill) truly cared about us and did their best to make our trip memorable. Prior to our trip, Cammy asked what we wanted to see and do and then helped plan our itinerary. We were pleased by the diversity of our trip: from archaeological sites to castles, from distillery tastings to traditional food, from nature walks to ferry rides, every place we visited and every activity offered new experiences. Cammy was the perfect host for our driving tour of Scotland, regaling us with his knowledge of history, poetry and song. Bill’s walking tour of Edinburgh was filled with anecdotes and even a stop to hear live Scottish music. Our trip concluded with the “Taste of Scotland” dinner show at Prestonfield House with Cammy as the MC. What a delightful way to end our trip. We most heartily recommend Edinburgh Tour Guide!

Spent a lovely morning with Cammy touring Edinburgh. With his knowledge, wit and charm he was the perfect host and tour guide for this wonderful city. Cammy knows a lot about a lot!! Scottish history, culture, Burns, poetry, music, Harry Potter, anecdotes, and he his very funny and kind. We loved it and can only advise you one thing: book him! Oh, and he has a great voice so get him to sing Scottish songs in a busy crowd and the locals will join in. Truly magnificent!

My husband and I, who are from Texas, had the chance to spend a week in Scotland with my sister and her husband and another couple who were all from San Diego. My sister arranged the whole week with Edinburgh Tour Guide, and it was fabulous! We had Cammy Goodall as our personal guide, entertainer, driver and expert on everything Scottish from castles, to neolithic sites, to islands, to heather, to music, to chocolate, etc. Cammy couldn't have been more perfect. He was truly amazing with his navigation skills, itinerary that included things we all wanted to see, and with his knowledge of history, ancient sites, music and literature. He was so kind and thoughtful to all of us, and he really made the tour more than we could have imagined. Starting in Glasgow, he took us to a wonderful museum, to several lochs (Lomond, Ness, etc.), Inveraray Castle, Dunvegan Castle, Blair Castle, Culloden, Clava Cairns, a few distilleries, Inverness, Oban, Isle of Islay, Isle of Skye, some great restaurants, a woolen mill, etc. He really made the history and music come alive for us, and he wore a kilt every day. We had such a good time, loved everything and can't believe how beautiful the highlands are. The purple heather was gorgeous, and, being an animal person, I loved the sheep and "hairy coos" that we saw. My husband even had the chance to do a little sheep shearing. We had a wonderful day in Edinburgh with his partner, Bill, as well. Bill also was so much fun and very kind to take us around Edinburgh and to a pub with live music that was fabulous. Our last night in Edinburgh, we were at a special "Taste of Scotland" dinner show in which Cammy was the MC and also performed with some of the other singers, dancers and musicians. We met his lovely daughters there, too, and had a great dinner and evening entertainment before flying home the next day. I can't thank Cammy and Bill enough for making our trip so special for all of us. They took great care of us all week, and I highly recommend their company, Edinburgh Tour Guide, to anyone who wants to get acquainted with Scotland!!! We loved them, Scotland and all of the wonderful people that we met there.

I first came to know about Edinburgh Tour Guide in 2013 when I traveled to Scotland for work and co-owner Bill Hill was contracted as our guide for 10 days. It was a fabulous experience and I have stayed in contact with Bill ever since. This time my husband and I, with two other couples, spent a week in Scotland under the expert guidance of Bill's associate Cammy Goodall. It was, by far, one of the very best travel experiences we have ever had! Cammy spent a solid six months putting our itinerary together, giving careful consideration to our individual wishes, making suggestions for site visits, recommending and booking hotels, reserving ferry passage and responding to frequent emails along the way. From the moment he met us in Glasgow until we said our goodbyes in Edinburgh a week later Cammy made us feel like the most important group he had ever traveled with. Our plan was for a "grand tour" of Scotland to include stops at distilleries in the western islands and highlands, cultural and historical points of interest, castles (!) and as much beautiful scenery as we could manage. We got all that and more as Cammy regaled us with anecdotes, songs, poetry, history, political and social commentary - generously infused with his own personal story, and delivered in a rich baritone voice with good humor and a contagious laugh. And what a story he has to share! He won me over on the very first day when he pointed out that a drum on display at Inverary Castle was the one he played as a member of the Black Watch regiment! It is obvious that Cammy loves Scotland, loves getting to know people, and loves what he does. Sadly, the week seemed to fly by all too quickly. We ended it with dinner at The Taste of Scotland - an evening of music, dancing and fine dining presented at Prestonfield House and starring none other than Cammy Goodall. Be sure to book a table when you visit Edinburgh and be sure to contact Edinburgh Tour Guide for your next visit to Scotland. Many, many thanks to Cammy and Bill for making this a dream vacation for our little group. We look forward to returning soon and seeing you both again!
