In Edinburgh, there is a small area adjacent to Holyrood Palace referred to on street signs as Croft-an-Righ. It's length is 162m. The name Croft-an-Righ, applies also to a little L-shaped mansion immediately outside the garden of Holyroodhouse. Judging by its architectural detail, it dates from the 16th century, and was extensively remodelled in the 17th century. Croft An Righ is an outstanding example of a traditional 17th century mansion house . The building is currently used as offices by Historic Scotland. Really lovely place.
