About
Our Wee Museum (run by The Living Memory Association charity) is packed with thousands of wonderful donated items gathered from the general public since our opening in 1986 which will spark memories and reminiscence. It is a 'hands on' museum with no glass cases, meaning that you can pick up items and examine them, and is suitable for all ages. We also have an audio tour which uses reminiscence recordings of voices long gone to bring the past back into the present. Free entry, free parking and free memories all available on the top floor of Ocean Terminal next to Brittania.

    Just wonderful
The staff could not have been more welcoming, striking the right balance between encouraging us to handle all the exhibits and leaving us alone to get stuck in! They have a fabulous range of items ranging from your grandma’s era to things you remember yourself from back in the day! The best example of a museum we’ve ever experienced. Great location in Ocean Terminal just next to Royal Yacht Brittania. Truly something for all ages to enjoy together. We will return soon!
Thank you for your kind words, glad you enjoyed your visit!

    Personal Museum
Having stepped off the Royal Yacht Britannia next door we ventured in for a look round. We travelled from another world of royal luxury to something much more personal. Many exclamations of 'Oh, I remember that', or 'I had one of these' all the way round. Things I remember from my Gran's house to things I had as a child with loads in between. It's like being transported into your own past. There was an occasional newer item to make me feel old as well. There's lots to see and, from the couple of stories the friendly staff were happy to share, it's clear that each item has it's own fastinating history. Well worth a visit!

A wonderful trip down memory lane
I love the Wee Museum. I’ve visited several times and always discover something new. They have so many things from my childhood - it’s always a wonderful trip down memory lane. Oh - and it’s completely free too. Ideal for everyone from toddlers to grandparents.

Had a bit time to kill, so went to The Wee Museum of Memory in Ocean Terminal and it certainly does what it says on the tin, as so many memories came flooding back. Hundreds, if not thousands of household products from back in my mum's and Nana's era.... and you can pick them up too!

I then went to their shop on ground level called 'Away for the Messages' and it has beautiful old photos and items related to shopping, from the days when your mum sent you for a 'forpit o tatties' with half a crown wrapped in the shopping list.

Russell was so lovely, welcoming and friendly. So glad I went and I'll be back and I highly recommend.

A trip down memory lane for some and a fun and interesting insight into life in the world before everyone had an iPhone . The exhibits are allowed to be handled and there are some really good stories about Leith when it was a bustling port.

Great fun, brought back loads of memories. So many things I had growing up, and lots of stuff to keep kids occupied. Worth a visit if you are in Leith or visiting Brittania which is on the same floor a couple of doors along
