We booked a private 2.5 hour walking tour with Peter for our first full day in Edinburgh, but the time flew by. We started off in the Old Town section of Edinburgh and made our way through the Old and then the New Town parts of the city. Peter was extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much about how people lived... More

In one afternoon we learned so much about Edinburgh's history, culture and hidden gems. Our guide, Peter was knowledgeable, entertaining and flexible as he customized the tour to meet our interests. This is the best way to discover a city, by spending an afternoon with an excellent local guide in a small group setting.

We took the tour yesterday with Peter. Originally we had booked with someone else, but due to an unexpected occurrence had asked Peter to take his place. Peter happily took over and gave us a wonderful experience. The tour started at Edinburgh Castle. We learned a lot about that and many other interesting information as we toured Old Town seeing... We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Peter. We did the one incorporating the old and new town and it took us to so many places that we'd have missed without the tour. It also meant that we knew our way around the city for the rest of our trip. We went off the main streets and learnt a lot about... More

Took a tour with Peter Hamilton and had such a great day out, despite the weather. I learnt so many things about the city of my birth and its history that I did not know. Peter's knowledge is extensive and is conveyed clearly and on occasion with no little humour. I have no doubt I could have spent many more... More

Peter was in our neighborhood the day before our scheduled tour and he took the time to give us a mini tour of Greyfriars on our way to the Spoon Cafe, where JK Rowling wrote. This was a great opportunity to pull out a map and strategize our next day. We asked to see Dean Village and we were not... More

What a fantastic introduction to Edinburgh! Our guide, Peter, was engaging, friendly and very knowledgeable. This tour really helped us to make the most of our time in Edinburgh - learning about Old and New Town: the history, the architecture, famous historical characters, plus some great tips on museums to check out, walks to take for the best views of...
