If you want to learn more about whisky, the Bow Bar is the place to visit. It is a small place, so don't walk in thinking you are going to get a table on a Friday night, Try 1-3 p.m. for some quiet time to...More

What I want from a pub is a good availability of very good real cask ales and a cheerful atmosphere. This pub has it, although near to the castle!

The Bow Bar on West Bow between Victoria St and the Grassmarket is a fine little pub. There is a good selection of real ales and bottled beers but this is a real haven for whisky lovers. The choice is huge. The staff are extremely...More

I was in this bar for a couple of beers, but what caught my eye was a girl behind the bar helping some tourists to choose whisky to taste. This bar is well known for its range of whiskies and its knowledgeable staff. I watched...More

A popular tourist bar. Lots of choices for beer and whiskey drinkers. Interior is more traditional bar than trendy hangout. Prices are OK for Edinburgh. Whiskey drinkers are in for a treat. Prices into the hundreds of pounds meant you could need deep pockets. But...More

lovely pub between grassmarket and royal mile not only filled with tourists. Big offer of different Whiskys and everything else a pub needs to offer (liquid). Looks traditionally not trendy but that’s the charming in the bow bar

Used to be a great bar located on the tourist street leading down to the Grassmarket from George IV Bridge. In my humble opinion, like many pubs in this area, it’s overpriced with not very good service, and populated with a tad few tourists. Just...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal

Hi Patrick. Not to my knowledge. The Bow Bar has been running since 1987 so I doubt another 'Bow Bar' was on the street.
