Candle Workshop
Feb 2020 • Business
Came here for the candle workshop with work. The workshop was 10am until 12 and went in very fast there were plenty of refreshments and very relaxing atmosphere the raspberry crumble was fantastic. The morning started with going over the different candle wax’s available and under burning and over burning.Added the wick to the glass jar the placed the label around the glass then we weighed out the wax then melted in a pot then added scent and mixed for 2 minutes then poured into the glass. Then we got to make up our own oil from different scents for the oil/wax burner.A very enjoyable morning and gained some knowledge of candles and came away with some great gifts.

Professionally run but not much "hands on" candle making
Nov 2019
Kerrylyn had a very professional set up in the Temple Village Hall, and she was very friendly and welcoming, providing teas and coffees and crumble. However, this was classed as a "workshop", and I was quite disappointed to find there was very little actual hands-on candle making. The candle making comprised adding a pre-prepared scent that we were asked to select, to wax that had already been measured and melted, and then pouring it into a glass. The only other practical aspect was to choose two or three scents from the selection provided, then measure and put 10ml in a small bottle. (Many of the scales were unfortunately faulty). No candle was made with this scent. The majority of the time was taken up with Kerrylyn telling us about her background, about candle making in general and how to burn them correctly. I'm not sure if Health and Safety regulations had prevented us from getting more involved?? The class was billed as 2.00-4.30pm, but we were finished well in advance of that.

I had a lovely experience at the Christmas candle making workshop it was a very relaxing morning, the time flew by !! I had coffee and warm berry crumble with cream just right for a frosty November morning.
I made a candle picking a scent I liked there were lots of choices so it was a hard decision for me!! and was given lots of tips and information, then I chose two scents and made my own fragrance oil
At the end of the session there was the opportunity to buy some items to make more candles
It’s a great experience and I met some really nice people from all different age groups

Nov 2019 • Business
I had a very enjoyable experience at Kerry's candle making workshop yesterday. It was very informative, therapeutic and fun. Kerry was super helpful and informative and made us all feel very welcome with lovley cups of tea and coffee and a delicious homemade crumble!
I came home with a beautiful candle and fragrance blend- I created both myself and the knowledge and skills to make my own candles at home. O would definitely recommend this workshop to anyone looking to expery the art of candle making.

Thanks again Kerry

Really enjoyed the workshop
Nov 2019 • Solo
I thought the workshop was really insightful, and I was really pleased with my candle and scent. The atmosphere was nice and Kerrylyn was really friendly and helpful. I’ve already recommended it to a few friends as it’s something quite different and great for a solo activity and with friends / family. Only small criticism was that it ended 30 mins earlier than outlined, so there were a couple of us waiting outside to be picked up as the village is quite a way outside of Edinburgh.

Relaxing and useful workshop
Oct 2019
I love candles and wanted to make some myself so I decided to buy this workshop. I have to say that it was a good decision as I had a really good time and learnt a new skill. Kerry was very welcoming and created relaxing atmosphere. I loved that there was a lot of different fragrances to choose from and that we could make our own blend as well. We also got to do our own candle and Kerry explained the whole process step by step. She also provided us with notes which will be very handy when I try to make candles myself at home. We had an amazing fruit crumble and tea and coffee. It was a great way to relax on Saturday morning.

Lovely workshop for candle lovers
Oct 2019
I loved taking part in this workshop, it was a lovely relaxing way to spend the morning. I love candles and this was great opportunity to make my own. It was fascinating learning about the process and fun getting to try it out. I enjoyed mixing my own fragrance to take home as well, and it was interesting to see the different combinations that everyone came up with. Kerry was a great host and the location was beautiful. I would highly recommend this workshop, it was a lot of fun.
