The statue stands just across the hotel we stayed in during our visit to Edinburgh. The 100.000 so-called '"artwork" supposedly generated much debate as some described it as looking like "a window cleaner who has dropped his ladder". I perfectly agree with that statement too.

Just a statue, nothing special. Stop and take a photo, or not. Don't go out of your way. Nice enough.

Modern sculpture depicting an ordinary modern man on top of a ladder. It's in front of the City Council, so potentially an important site. But i doubt if anyone would think this an important work of art. Odd choice.

The moment I saw this, it caught my eye, it's not that attractive, but it is someones artistic attempt to lighten up the front of Edinburgh city councils offices here. Basically it is a multicoloured scaffold like structure about 40ft high with a sculpture of...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
