About
Coco is an Artisan Chocolatier based in Edinburgh. Coco was established in 2004 as one of Scotland's first chocolatiers. We only use the highest quality ingredients and a single origin chocolate from South America to make our range. Our flavours are well balanced and surprising with lovely textures and beautiful cocoa richness. All chocolate bars and truffles are created by our skilled chocolatiers who are constantly developing new ideas to create interesting & enchanting treats. We are happy to develop customised products for our wholesale customers. Making delicious chocolate is our passion! Coco Chocolatier offers Chocolate Making Courses, Hen Parties & Tasting Evenings for those who just can't get enough of the "food of the gods". Please give us a call if you would like to know more about any of our courses. We have a range of vegan chocolates and most of our product is gluten-free so nobody needs to be left out.

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s first hip neighborhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s most desirable, though many bohemian touches have fallen away as its residents have matured and the area has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but mostly residents display refined tastes in basement bistros, gastropubs, coffee and antique shops, boutiques and delis and at the Sunday farmers' market. A pleasant ten-minute walk away, along a leafy riverside path beside the gurgling Water of Leith, lies Dean Village. This sleepy neighborhood of medieval half-timbered houses still retains much of the village feel it had when watermills plied their trade here. Beyond, the wooded riverside path feels even more remote as it climbs to the sculpture gardens of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.

Nice hot chocolate
Dec 2018 • Friends
It was a cold winter day in Edinburgh and we thought we would treat our selves to a hot chocolate. The drink it self was delicious however it was not that hot. However the staff there are very friendly

Unremarkable chocolate.

I visited this shop hoping to discover a wide range of delicious and unusual chocolate flavours, but unfortunately, I was disappointed on both fronts. The selection is not particularly broad, no more so than the Green & Blacks flavours you might find in a supermarket. Of the three that we bought, none were particularly nice, and we would not buy them again.

These chocolate bars, which are very nicely packaged, can be bought in various 'aesthetically minded' places around Edinburgh, e.g. museum gift shops, so even if you insist on buying this chocolate, you needn't do it here.

MMMMMMMM

We popped into Coco on a whim as we were strolling along the street and were so happy that we did. The chocolate jockey was knowledgeable and passionate about her chocolate and we tasted a number of unusual flavours such as gin and tonic, hazelnut and sea salt, orange lemon and geranium, and the coated almonds before deciding on the three that we would take home.

Very good chocolate and very enjoyable experience.

The most delightful chocolate shop selling beautiful chocolate bars and handmade truffles - all made in Edinburgh. Would highly recommend their drinking chocolate - cinnamon & cardamon was delicious!
