Dean Castle country park.

I love walking around the Castle and grounds. The little nature reserve has pigs and Llamas. If you want to keep your children amused it's well worth a visit.

Thanks for taking the time to review us, Tracy. As well as walking the paths and visiting the castle, the renovations will provide a new visitor centre and cafe and rural life centre where you can learn about wildlife and traditional rural skills. We'll have lots more to see and do in the summertime so do come and see us... More

Been visiting here for many years, great park with long forest walks, animals, play area, castle with your n dress up area. Lots of activities here throughout the year. Very well maintained and undergoing major renovations this year. Can spendany an hour here blowing away the cobwebs. It's on our doorstep bringing the countryside closer. Well worth the time to... Almost the whole park is now closed, everyone is stuck to the same route which causes issues, open routes are not suitable for disabled or infirm. The amount of trees being cut down is sickening to say the least, its not a park without TREES! Some of the trees have meaning/memories to members of the public. I can see nothing... More

Hi Kacey, I'm so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit to the Park. Our disabled car park was open at the weekend, unfortunately it sounds as though you were unable to find it. The disabled parking is located behind the Castle. The Palace building within the Castle is open to the public, Wednesday to Sunday. I'm... More

Normally this is a fabulous day out but areas are now closed off due to extensive renovation. You can still go a walk along the river and up and round the pastures where some of the animals are now housed. The visitors centre and cafe are closed but toilets can be accessed during normal working hours. Not sure what plans... More

Thanks very much for your positive review. You are quite correct, the works for the Park are now in full swing so access can be restricted. However, there are diversionary routes in place for the footpaths, so please do follow the signage - you might even see part of the park you're never seen before. The Palace remains open 10am-4pm... Amazing to have such a lovely forest of my doorstep. Has lovely long walks, shorter ones, a muddy park for the kids, animals and a large grass play area. Not forgetting a wee cafe for an ice lolly on a hot day or a coffee if you want to pay a bit extra for one. Great wee day out if... More

We visited here from Toronto. Could not say a single bad thing about this place, the scenery was breath taking, the staff was extremely kind to us. We got our own little tour of everything, and stayed behind just to talk to the staff and other people we had met there. So much kindness shown to us, we will definitely... More
