Being from Kilmarnock then you could say I am biased but here I will be as honest as I can. The Dean Castle was built on land given to the Boyd family, after the battle of Bannockburn, as a gift from King Robert the Bruce. The first castle was a Motte and Bailey type and the only thing that remains... More

The park offers lots of parking for those driving to the area. There are several walks, of different degrees of difficulty, throughout the park. The children's play area is always popular and the variety of animals, available for children to see, is extensive. A lovely place to spend some time, especially in good weather! The Cafe, when it's open, offers... More

This is the castle in my family's hometown and it never gets boring any time we have visited. Great place to take the dog for a walk, great place to take the kids for a few hours out! The nature walk is a good distance, and wall worth the walk, as you can see llamas, and horses. The playground is... More

The castle is surrounded by beautiful woodland and riverside walks. A great place to walk at any time of the year. I have visited the park many times but this is the first time I have taken a look inside the castle. Firstly, it is really good that the castle is free of charge. Well done to the local council... When I was younger I always walked through the park before it was a family attraction, I have recently visited the park and restaurant about half a dozen times this year and was pleasantly surprised by the way the park has taken shape, my granddaughter especially loved it. I would also recommend the tearoom ideal for a coffee and cake.

I am extremely fortunate to live so close to this park. Within minutes you are in a fantastic woodland for lovely walks, to admire the vast variety of animals and enjoying the care and expertise put into the upkeep of such a park. For many years I walked my dog round the various different pathways meeting like minded people. It's... More

I have been visiting dean park since I was a child, great place for walks and adventures. I take my kids pretty often too. You can spend hours just walking taking in the sights. And walking along the water is great fun 😍
