Used to be amazing for gigs back in the day with the twist etc. Now there seems to be nothing going on here. Went to a gig here at end of December and the gig was really good but the place needs redoing. The bar ran out of drink, me and my friends went to the weatherspoons along the road for the toilets because they are so so disgusting and it took ages to be served and when we did the prices are so much to be served a tiny drink in a plastic party cup. The gig however was great and I will be back but only cause of the music. The place had so much potential. Someone could make this a great place!!!

Was here for the annual Book Yer Ane Fest charity music festival. I'd been here for it last year too, but it appears Buskers have new management now. Bar was poorly stocked and chronically understaffed on the Friday. They ran out of all draft pints midway through the evening as, curiously for a popular festival, it was really busy. Bar was restocked on the Saturday. Staffing improved rest of the weekend but the staff seemed uninterested. Witnessed the venue manager shouting at the promoters after someone had spilt a pint during some enthusiastic dancing. Complete overreaction and very unprofessional. This is a great space with good acoustics and has a lot of potential. Hopefully it'll find a manager who will make it work.

Not really one for reviews on here unless I find someplace amazing but unfortunately there is nothing amazing about this place and I felt so strongly that I had to put it on here .I persuaded all my friends to use here as a meeting point for DDE, what a mistake that was ,I stood at the bar for at least 45 mins ,at one point actually begging staff to serve me when they had a minute, yet I continued to get ignored ,meanwhile watching as others got served straight away ,it is no doubt "who you know"in here and clearly the bar staff have no clue on customer service ,I left without a drink and will never return nor recommend ,such a shame as it has such potential ,I look forward to the ignorant bar staff ever coming into my shop as they certainly won't be a priority .

Recently went here for a gig and it's not great. Could barely hear the band singing. Good place for bands just starting out to get a small crowd though.

We attended the first Dundee Celtfest at this venue. It is an old converted church which is dark and dreary inside due to the walls and fixtures being painted black and dark grey. The roof is still the original height so acoustics aren't the best. An attempt has been made to give the illusion of a lower roof by some cloth banners being draped across from one side of the balcony to the other. The conversion seems to be some what incomplete! There is a lack of seating- just a few mismatched tables, chairs and stools dotted around in odd places. Spiral staircases (leading to the balcony) are locked within a circle of black railings.- almost Goth decor . The bar is well enough stocked but staff seem to be reluctant to stay behind it and prices are steep for the lack of comfort and decor . There is no atmosphere what so ever. The place has potential but is in serious need of a paint job, decent furnishings and some TLC!
