We had tickets to visit here included in an accommodation package and found an interesting insight into Dundee's past is on offer here. Lots of information provided on the importance of jute to Dundee and its population. The museum seems tucked away in the city but is well signposted.

My friend and I visited today to see Oor Wullie and visited the cafe. Had a lovely lunch of soup, sandwich with crisps and salad and a cup of tea. Lovely lunch, good value and lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Well thought out museum in an original Jute Factory. It tells the history of Jute and Dundee in a interesting way, illustrated using audio-visuals, original equipment and offices. It doesn't overload you and gives a great insight into Dundee and life in the 19th/20th centuries in the region. Good cafe on the site. It offers a combined visit ticket for... More

The title sums up the museum as it deals with the jute story all the way from Bangladesh to the finished products.

Thoroughly enjoyed this attraction in Dundee. It explains the basis of Dundee's success in the Jute trade. Many original machines laid out in a former mill brought it all to life. Combined with film, audio recollections and social implications we had a fantastic morning absorbed at this well-worth visiting attraction.

As a local I will try not to gild the lily, but I would highly recommend a visit for anyone living or visiting Dundee. Special thanks to Janice for the tour and Bill for the jute processing demonstration. Fascinating historical facts - clearly girl power didn't start in the 1990's

I have visited the Verdant Works on various occasions and really enjoyed all our visits. It is very child friendly and keeps the children's attention. On my first visit the various pieces of machinery actually was shown working but now owing to Health and Safety ruling they only show it working using video screens because of the noise

This museum was a real surprise. My husband does not like museums so it took a bit of persuading to get him there on a wet afternoon but he gave in. Thought this might just be for children but far from it there was plenty for all ages. A lot of money has been spent here in the last few... More
