We allocated two hours for our visit, but we want to return. Fortunately, our ticket is good for a year! We found the story told in this former jute mill very informative and fascinating. I knew some of my ancestors lived in Dundee and worked in a jute mill, but I had no idea of what that revolved. The only... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Verdant Works. I am so happy to see you had such a good time and that you already want to return - it is always great when people are as taken by Verdant Works as we are. A great dedication to the Jute industry and the people of Dundee. Very well set out and informative. It was great to see some of the machines working. The highlight being the demonstration by Lily who used to work them. It was great to hear her stories of working during that era.

Having already been to the Discovery Centre we decided to see the Verdant Works as something totally different. We were not disappointed. it's a good venue, well thought out. being able to self guide was really useful as you could take things at your own pace. At the time we visited there was a volunteer showing how the jute was... More

We knew about the Verdant works from visiting the Discovery a few years ago, at that time we had not got enough time to visit, so this time we made it. It's all about the Jute industry as Dundee became known as the Jute capitol of the World. The museum takes you back to the beginning of the Jute industry,... More

We had tickets to visit here included in an accommodation package and found an interesting insight into Dundee's past is on offer here. Lots of information provided on the importance of jute to Dundee and its population. The museum seems tucked away in the city but is well signposted.

My friend and I visited today to see Oor Wullie and visited the cafe. Had a lovely lunch of soup, sandwich with crisps and salad and a cup of tea. Lovely lunch, good value and lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Well thought out museum in an original Jute Factory. It tells the history of Jute and Dundee in a interesting way, illustrated using audio-visuals, original equipment and offices. It doesn't overload you and gives a great insight into Dundee and life in the 19th/20th centuries in the region. Good cafe on the site. It offers a combined visit ticket for... More
