Nice museum. Free entry so great for kids who may not have great attention spans! Some interesting exhibits, and then some not so much unless you are familiar with local history. All things considered defiantly worth a visit for a break away from the shopping! Took our 9 & 10 year olds and both enjoyed most rooms. With kids, visit... More

What a shame ,we were the only two people in this place .The only good thing ,was it's free! But for the rest you can spare yourself the trouble. The collection is a bit of a mishmash in part and good point was afew nice 19th century paintings . Its alright if there is not much to do if it... More

The McManus Galleries house the famous skeleton of the Tay Whale and other interesting Dundonian articles. It's a great place to take the kids and because it is free, you can pop in and out as the kids start to get bored. We have visited lots of times and the kids always see something new. I've also heard that there... More

This is a great place to come and look at natural history, local history and a good collection of art works. They put on some interesting exhibitions of international repute and of local interest too. There is a good cafe here as well and they put on workshops for children on a regular basis. Even if you don't want to... More

Well I wanted to like this, really I did, but it was awful. Outdated, lazily presented, stuffy, and as boring as it gets. Left after 15 regrettable minutes.

We visited shortly after 10am on a weekday and it was pleasantly quiet. Quite a compact museum but has a good range of displays and we had the place largely to ourselves. The kids activity room was really good with colouring, making things and dressing up costumes for the kids. The guy at reception was friendly and helpful and gave... More

Very well thought-out museum and gallery. Like most such, there is only space to exhibit some of the available pieces. Staff friendly and helpful. Such a pity that the extensions were not to the same architectural quality of Scott's Albert Institute. A shame also that the name was changed. However, it is not just sad but quite tragic that a...
