In the centre of Dundee, within easy walking district of almost any central hotel, sits the splendid McManus Gallery. Here the history of the town is displayed in an attractive and attention-catching manner, with supportive audio-visual displays and clear and readable item notes. The exhibition is fresh, modern, visitor friendly and of interest to everyone, including those with not connections... More

This is a building I have seen from the outside many times but until today had never been inside. Upon entering, the lady at reception was very helpful, issued me with a museum guide and explained where all the different sections were and what they had to offer. Basically on the ground floor is the reception, a shop, café and... More

What an interesting set of exhibits and artworks on display in this gorgeous building. From Churchill to the Tay Railbridge disaster, from delightful pottery to major artworks, this gallery and museum has much to delight! A lovely cafe and shop are also contained within😀

Although the main focus of the museum is local history it also gives a picture of how Dundee fitted in with the rest of the world.

what a fabulous building - the greeting as you enter is unparalleled, wit someone to explain to you what to see and to give you a wee guide to help you navigate. Wander around and drink it all in - everything you could possibly want, from archaeology - the earliest folk living in the area and the traces they left... More

The Mc Manus is one of the bright spots of Dundee. Although a small museum, It has some of everything. There is a wonderful collection of artifacts which outline the history of Dundee, a permanent art collection and temporary exhibits as well. The building itself is a beautiful structure. Well worth a visit.

This is one of those wonderful local museums that has random collections of items only linked by the town and what people were kind enough to donate. You never knew what could be around the next corner! Central location in a beautiful building, easily accessible. I'm guessing it's had a facelift fairly recently - all the exhibits and labels are...
